Survival Mode to the Rescue - Splinterlands
Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.
With the Conclave Packs finally introduced and the older cards are gone from the Modern format, I became a vulnerable player now. To be honest I have not increased by stake in New packs like Conclave or Rebellion. I had Chaos Legion and still have few packs of it. So basically all the good cards I was owning is basically gone to the Wild and Survival mode. So in the modern format, I have fee cards but they are all tye basic cards which I got from the Glint rewards.
Now Wild format is out of the question because it needs 2K DEC for playing. I played in Wild Format for fee seasons but the problem was that I am not able to recover that 2K back so it was a loss for me. And since in the modern format I was doing well so there was not point in going to the Wild. Now with modern out of the question till I get good cards and Wild also out of the question because of the loss I will incur. I have to play the Survival Mode now.
I know it's like the real Survival where you have to play until you run out of the cards. The only thing is that the number of games will be reduced if my cards dies soon. And thus the rewards I will generate will also get reduced. So overall it's a bad situation to be in. But yeah I think it's a minor hiccup and eventually we all whoever in the same boat find a way. I think it will take couple of seasons to calm the nerves as well as get to know nee cards so until then we all have to play our part I.e. understanding the nee cards, playing the Survival format to gain Glint rewards and eventually using the Glint rewards along with buying new cards to set foot again in the modern format.
One more thing is that even though you don't have the cards there are some starter cards which you can use to play the Modern format. So I will play the Survival mode and if all my cards are exhausted and if I have the energy left, I can play the modern format to get some Glint rewards and continue to play the game. I don't have much cards but still there are around 15 cards which I can play in the Modern format along with some starter card.
So I tried my luck to see if I can win the game with those cards or not. To my surprise I won 2 games out of 5. I know it's not that good record but still there is a possibility of winning the games in the modern format. Most importantly utilizing your energy which otherwise might go waste if you are done with the Survival Mode.
So yeah the game plan from this season is simple, play the Survival Mode as much as possible, along with thar win the game get Glint and try to open the Glint rewards to get some new cards. If you have exhausted all your old cards, go back to the Modern format and play with the remaining cards and win some games.

Wild format is the main battleground, where we get to use any existing card in the game and is good for those who own a good collection of old edition cards. 2k dec seems a cheap price for entry compared with the rewards. But yes, the real fun lies in survival mode, but you've got to have a lot of battle-ready cards to continue playing it..
