Splinterlands - A Battle Of Legendary Summoners - Yodin Zaku Against Mimosa Nightshade

Hello Friends,

Yodin Zaku and Mimosa Nightshade are like north and south poles as they induce contrasting abilities into the monsters they summon.
Here I am with a battle where these 2 faced each other and Yodin Zaku coming out triumphant inspite of the ranged attack got reduced due to Mimosa's ability.
Let's go with the details of the battle.

Yodin Zaku:

Yodin Zaku is the most fearsome of all the Legendary summoners we have as it increases the ranged attack, increases the health and induced blast ability to all the friendly monsters it summons.
The blast itself makes all the monsters to attack with One and Half attack with First monster getting attacked with full strength and Second monster with half the attack strength.

Mimosa Nightshade:

Mimosa Nightshade makes the monsters lose out the healing ability with affliction induced on all of opponent's monsters, it reduces the ranged attack by 1 and also makes it's own monsters to have reduced blow from opponent's monsters with void ability which makes monsters to have reduced attack from magic attack.

Here I go with the details of the lineup I used and also the lineup used by opponent with battle details to follow.
This battle was with 28 MANA cap and had 2 important rule sets, holy protection and reverse speed.
While holy protection makes all the monsters to have extra layer of protection and doesn't get hit with any attack from the First attack for each monster, reverse speed as we know, will make the monster with least speed to attack First and then the next least and so on.

Lineup:

1. Living Lava:

Like in all the reverse speed battles, I used Living Lava to go upfront as it has just 1 speed and can take out 5 total health with 3+2 with blast and gets lesser attack from melee and ranged attack monsters because of the shield ability it has.

2. Ant Miners:

Ant Miners with the scavenger ability, is a good one for the low MANA cap battles and in this case, it serves well as the Yodin Zaku wants more ranged attack monsters in it's lineup and this monster is best with 2 MANA cost and keeps increasing it's health with each monster getting removed.

3. Kobold Miner:

A monster to check the back end monsters on the other side and this 2 cost monster is as important as Ant Miners in this lineup.

4. Goblin Fireballer:

First of the 3 ranged attack monsters in this lineup.
This 2 MANA cost monster gives 2+1 attack with blast and should be enough to take out armors if any from the front monster.

5. Halfling Alchemist:

Another 2 MANA cap monster which also halves the attack from front monster on the other side and more importantly, it also gives 2+1 1+1 attack due to Mimosa .

6. Cyclops:

The main weapon in this lineup is this one with 1 speed and 4+2 attack it can give in normal battles with Yodin Zaku but because of Mimosa, it gives 3+2 attack here.

Opponent used monsters Furious Chicken, Lord of Darkness, Maggots, Dark Astronomer, Parasitic Growth and Death Elemental.

Battle:

Round 1:

There were lots of hits and misses in this round and that means, only Furious Chicken became the monster to be removed in this round.
The arrival of Lord of Darkness should heat up the things in next round if it can stun the Living Lava.

Round 2:

Normally, when Yodin Zaku is used as a summoner, the battles will get completes in 2 or 3 rounds, but it was a different story here.
We saw only Furious Chicken getting removed in previous round and here, the Halfling Alchemist was the only one to be removed as opponent has a snipe monster and 2 opportunity monsters.

Round 3:

This was the most destructive round so far with 3 monsters getting removed.
While opponent lost his Maggots and Death Elemental, Goblin Fireballer from the lineup I used has to go in this round.

Round 4:

2 more went down in this round 1 each from each side.
The blast made Dark Astronomer to go out, while, Living Lava after getting missed hits from Lord of Darkness on many occasions, finally got a stunning hot by The Lord and has to go.

image.png

Round 5:

Lord of Darkness without the healing, has to go here as it was taken down by the ranged attack of Cyclops and that brought the last monster Parasitic Growth to the front for opponent.

Round 6:

It didn't take much time to get rid of the Parasitic Growth and that was an easy win against another legendary summoner.

That was a nice battle and once again proved to me why the Yodin Zaku is the best summoner among all we have. Yes it do have it's own weaknesses against magic attack, but most of the times, it does win even against Water splinter monsters.
I hope you enjoyed this battle detail and do share your feedback about this blog.

Thanks and Wishing you all a great week ahead :)

Very interesting and very explanatory post my friend. I just started a couple of days ago and well, I'm learning little by little. It is a lot of information to gather to achieve the correct alignments according to the abilities of each monster. I have been excited about this great game and I don't know why it took me so long to join the great adventure of Splinterlands. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Regards.

Oh Welcome onboard @fragozar01,

Happy to have you on Splinterlands.

Yep, it will take some time to get adjusted to different aspects of Splinterlands, we all learn by seeing the monsters used by opponents and yes, each monster is unique with different abilities and we use different combination based on the rule sets for each battle.

Happy battling my friend :)
