Splinterlands - An Epic Battle Between Magic Monsters

Hello Friends,

Time and again, I come with a blog about some of the special battles and most of the time, it will be Yodin Zaku which gets featured, but, for a change, I am bringing out a blog with a battle between 2 set of magic monsters and believe me, the battle was epic one fought over 10+ rounds for the 29 MANA cap battle as I share below.

The battle had Keep Your Distance rule set, meaning only magic and ranged attack monsters can be used in the battle and that made me to go ahead with Alric Stormbringer summoner from Water Splinter

Alric Stormbringer is from Alpha/Beta versions and is one of the widely used summoners as it gives the +1 push to all magic attack monsters.

Battle and Lineup:

Since the MANA cap of 29 was there, and with Keep Your Distance rule set was on, I normally use Lord A in the front position with Prismatic Energy in Second position as most of the time, we may see some blast magic attack monsters and having 2 monsters which can magic reflect will be more beneficial and that led me to use those 2 along with other monsters as below.

Lineup:

1. Lord Arianthus:

As I said, this monster with magic reflect, void, thorn and shield abilities, can be a threat to any type of attack from other side.

2. Prismatic Energy:

This is lined up with an eye to blast attack as this can also magic reflect and with void ability, it takes lesser blow from magic attacks.

3. Spirit Miner:

I use this with 2 intentions, 1 is to increase the speed of all the monsters I use to have early attack benefit and Second one is to make opponent's monsters blind folded so that, they will miss to attack here and there.

4. Elven Mystic:

Keep Your Distance will definitely mean there will be many magic attack monsters and this monster with Silence ability, can reduce the magic attack by 1 for all opponent's magic monsters.

5. Mermaid Healer:

Used this to heal the Second line monsters I used including itself as these middle MANA cap battles can be tricky and I preferred a Triage monster over a tank heal monster like Crustacean King.

6. Furious Chicken:

Lastly, this zero cost monster was used for any sneak attack.

Opponent used a new Death Splinter summoner Owster Rotwell with monsters Phantom Soldier, Shadowy Presence, Spirit Miner, Tortisian Cheif, Venari Bonesmith and Fallen Specter to complete his lineup.

Battle:

As the MANA cap wasn't much, the monsters were also of lesser attack and on top of that, on both sides, there was a monster to reduce magic attack and that further reduces the overall attack in each round and that led to more than expected number of rounds of battle although MANA cap was just 29.

let's go with round by round battle.

Round 1:

With all those positive abilities for friendly monsters and negative abilities for opponent's monsters, it was left that, only 3 monsters can positively attack the front monsters on either side with me having 2 in Prismatic Energy and Spirit Miner and opponent just having one in Phantom Soldier as Silnence ability reduced the magic attack on either side.

There was no monster got removed and the trend will continue for few more rounds with lack of reducing the health for many monsters.

Round 2:

Fallen Specter from opponent's lineup was the First to be removed as it had just 2 health and it got reduced to zero in this round.

Rest of the monsters continued to survive.

Rounds 3, 4 and 5:

The reduced magic attack didn't help both sides and the battle had it's Second monster getting removed again from opponent's side with Venari Bonesmith getting removed here.

It couldn't pour the poison though and that made the Lord A survive for few more rounds.

Round 6:

It was my turn to lose a monster in this round as the Mermaid Healer kept healing Spirit Miner and Elven Mystic and had to lose it's health.

Round 7:

Opponent kept losing monsters in this round as he lost couple of monsters in the form of Spirit Miner and Tortisian Chief and that also means, the Phantom Soldier won't get any more healing from this round onwards.

Round 8 to 12:

The lack of healing made the Phantom Soldier losing it's health in each round and by round 12, it has to bow off with only Shadowy Presence remaining for opponent.

Round 13 and 14:

It took 2 more rounds to remove Shadowy Presence as the Prismatic Energy gained additional attack after removal of Phantom Soldier and the battle was won by me!!!

The battle went for more rounds as the attack was lesser and inspite of having a tank healer, opponent had to lose out as most of his monsters had reduced attack and Elven Mystic was crucial for me in this win.

Initially, I thought the battle may get over early, but the lack of attack because of silence on both sides means, the battle has to go on for 14 rounds.

Usage of Prismatic Energy was beneficial for me and so was the use of Mermaid Healer which kept healing Spirit Miner and Elven Mystic to keep me in the battle.

I hope the battlers will find this useful in building strategy for such all magic attack monsters and I always keep publishing blogs with such nice battles.

Thanks like every time for going thru these blogs by me and also supporting me with your useful support in the form of upvotes and comments and i seek your support as always.
