Hello Friends,

First of all, wishing you all advance Happy Ne Year 2022 as we are left with less than 12 hours(in India) to welcome the new year!!!!
Well, my today's blog is all about the new airdropped card from Splinterlands as part of the newly introduced Chaos Legion version of cards.
I got a chance to purchase 200 packs from the First pre-sale and that gave me about 5 regular cards aidropped and I purchased One from the market to level it up to level 3 which required 6 cards.

Well, here it is!!! The Doctor Blight which is a good addition to the monsters we have as it perfectly fits in all kind of battles including the Little League since this monster only coasts 4 MANA.
The monster is from neutral category, so, this will be available to be used with all the Splinters, it is a magic monster and it's a Legendary one from the Chaos Legion edition and comes with heaps of abilities which no one can resist to use in the battle!!!

Stats:

Here I go with the level-wise stats for this awesome monster.
As we see from above screenshot, at level 1 itself, it has 2 abilities, camouflage and Affliction and starts with Single magic attack and minimum speed of One.
As we upgrade this to level 2, the attac and speed remains same, but, it gets an additional ability in the form of Poison and that combined with Affliction makes it a deadly one and because of Camouflage, it can't be attacked until it is at front position and that makes it the monster for all battles!!
When this leveled up to level 3, it's magic attack gets upgraded to 2 and there comes another ability in the form of Scavenger and it starts gaining +1 health with each monster getting removed on either side.
Lastly, when it's leveled to level 4, it will get another ability Weaken to reduce the health of all monsters by 1 from opponent's monsters.
Overall, except for speed, which stays at 1, it's a good one to occupy one of those 6 slots in the battle.

Battle and Lineup:

Since I wanted to show the abilities this monsters brings out and helps to win the battle, here I go with a battle I recently fought using Doctor Blight and actually, it can be even more lethal when there are those BIG guys in the battle as it doesn't fear any and can't be found and attacked until it's at the front position for a direct face off!!!!

This battle was a Reverse Speed rule set battle and Summoner was silenced due to Silenced Summoner rule set and the battle MANA cap was a good one at 38 and that made me to select some of the good low speed monsters as below to battle it out and win this battle comfortably.

Lineup:

1. Failed Summoner:

I wanted to use a better monster with little more MANA cost, but, when I selected other monsters I wanted to have in the battle, there was only 2 MANA cost left to fill the final slot and that made me to select this Failed Summoner monster for the front position.

2. Kron The Undying:

Another monster I use very often because of it's self healing ability and this can also be a good one to attack even from front position because of it's huge health of 10.

3. Doctor Blight:

The monster I am highlighting in this blog, the Doctor Blight fitted well in Third position because of it's Scavenger ability to gain additional health and it was instrumental in this win with it's poisoning and affliction abilities.

4. Goblin Psychic:

I normally use Spirit of the Forest or Wood Nymph for tank heal, but, since this was a reverse speed battle, I chose this Goblin Psychic since it has a speed of One and it also comes with abilities like affliction to stop the monster from getting healed.

5. Goblin Tower:

This was another monster with minimum speed and since it is also with blast ability, it can attack 2 monsters at a time with it's First attack having 3 ranged attack and in total, it will reduce Five health.

6. Cyclops:

Lastly, there was another minimal speed monster with stun ability in the form of this Cyclops to complete the lineup.

Opponent used Earth Splinter too and his choice of monsters were Lord Arianthus, Sand Worm, Parasitic Growth, Goblin Chef, Wood Nymph and last standing Kron The Undying.

Battle:

Round 1:

The consolidated attack on both sides were almost equal except for the fact that, Goblin Tower can blast to have additional 2 health reduced in each round.
The battle started without any monster getting removed in this round as both the front monsters had good health to start with although both got the health reduced to One by the end of this round, but, both got poisoned to get them removed at the beginning of next round!!!
Doctor Blight was instrumental in stopping the Lord A from getting healed as it afflicted Lord A and made itself count from round 1 itself.

Round 2:

Round 2 was more destructive with 2 monsters from opponent's side getting removed and Doctor Blight played it's part again by poisoning this time the Parasitic Growth and that was enough to tilt this battle in my favor.

image.png

Round 3:

Couple more monsters from opponent's side got removed in the form of Goblin Chef and Wood Nymph to bring last standing Kron The Undying to the front and we all know how destructive he can be with increased speed and magic attack.

image.png

Round 4:

It's always good to have stun and affliction when you see Kron The Undying is last standing and I had the monsters with those abilities with Cyclps having stun and Goblin Psychic and Doctor Blight having affliction ability and that was enough to restrict Kron The Undying to have just 4 health by the end of this round.

Round 5:

Couple of blows by Cyclops and Goblin Tower and Kron the Undying was gone!!!! Never expected this battle to be so easily won!!!!

As I mentioned, Doctor Blight had a huge role to play with other monsters also chipping in and the win was obvious for me!!!
I would love to upgrade Doctor Blight to level 4, but my summoners all around level 6 or 7, doesn't allow me to utilize the additional ability of Weaken even if I upgrade it and hence, right now, I am good with it at level 3 and it's a power house even at level 3 for me and contributed a lot in the wins since I have it from the aidrop!!!!
Thanks as usual to you all for the support and I hope you enjoyed reading this blog.

Have a great day and Happy New Year!!!

I've bought Dr. Blight last week and upgraded it to level 3. It such a powerful card and it can make a difference in a lot of battles. I like to put it in last position so that it can fill life and in the end it's often the last card standing :-)

Oh yeah, I have seen that in the recent battles I fought with you.
Level 3 is what I too have and I feel that should be enough to have a stable backend monster to keep afflicting, poisoning the front monsters without it getting exposed to those sneak and opportunity monsters :)

Good day and a great year ahead :)

I got a chance to purchase 200 packs from the First pre-sale

This alone costed $800 USD, not counting the vouchers. Seeing the recent drop in the Splinterlands cards, it is scary to think about the loss in the value in your Splinterlands card collection. My was dropped from more than $900 USD to less than $500 USD.

Hopefully the Splinterlands card prices will rise again soon.

Happy New Year.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Yes, this will be a factor to consider with, but I think it's more on the types of cards we get. I was fortunate to get good number of Legendary and Epic ones including almost all the cards even in Gold Foiled version.

That combined, gives me a profitable return on my investment including the amount spent on potions as well.

yes, I too agree that, unlike the Untamed version, the price of Chaos Legion cards may not increase any time soon since there are more packs still to be sold and there is considerable time. But, if you think of it in the longer run, I think it will be profitable only.

From what I was seeing as a $1600 to $2000 net-worth almost a year back, is now more than $60K.

I am sure you might have planned to purchase more packs from phase 2 vouchers and I hope you will recover the loss and have some profit as well :)

Wishing you a new year and a great day ahead :)

P.S: potions might be something to think of while opening the packs although I am not 100% sure, had some spare DEC and purchased the required number of potions.
