With waiting time is less than 4 days for the Chaos Legion packs opening and also to have another chance at getting more vouchers to try and purchase more packs, it's exciting to keep battling on Splinterlands!!!!
Here I am with a blog with a battle for this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE weekly challenge with Animated Corpse from Death Splinter being the theme monster.
Let's go thru the blog with details of lineup, battle by rounds and also the details of why I use or not use Animated Corpse.

Animated Corpse is a common monster from Death Splinter for the earlier versions of Alpha and Beta and is a good fit for Little League battles as it's a 4 MANA cost monster

Stats:

As I mentioned above, this monster will be a very good fit for the Little League battles and I use it as a front monster in most of the cases.
To see the monster's stats, this monster starts with 2 melee attack, so, it's a good one even with level 1 monster for Little Leagues.
The melee attack can be a max of 4 at level 9 and 10 and it gets to 3 from level 6 onwards.
The little drawback I see in this monster is it's speed as it starts with 1 speed which gets to 2 by the time this monster is leveled up to 3 and it subsequently ends with 3 speed from level 5 onwards.
The health is a bit on positive side as it starts with 6 for a 4 MANA cost monster and it can be a maximum of 9 by the time it is leveled up to level 10.
The only ability this monster has is the void ability which will allow it to take lesser damage from magic attack monsters.

Battle and Lineup:

This battle had 24 MANA cap had 2 rule sets with Equalizer (Equal health for all the monsters on either side with health of monster with highest health) and Even Stevens (Using only even MANA cost monsters only) and that led me to use Animated Corpse as my front monster with other monsters as mentioned below:

Lineup:

1. Animated Corpse:

The theme monster for this week was a good fit after I saw Even Stevens rule set and since i had decided to use Death Splinter.
The monster gives 2 melee attack and has good health and since i had planned to use Corrupted Pegasus and also Equalizer rule set on, I felt this can last a bit longer than usual to allow the other monsters I used to keep attacking.

2. Corrupted Pegasus:

Since Animated Corpse is a monster without healing ability, I thought of using this and this monster is a good edition to my Death splinter collection as it is a tank healer and also gives 3 melee attack and comes with other abilities like flying, reach and strengthen to increase health of all friendly monsters by 1.

3. Darkest Mage:

Since the Equalizer rule set makes all monster of high health, it's necessary to use a monster which stops healing as we can always expect healing monsters and that led me to use this monster which can afflict to stop a monster from getting healed.

4. Fallen Specter:

Fallen Specter in normal circumstances, comes with a single health and taking it beyond round 1 will be a difficult task as it will be targeted by opportunity monsters or if there is a magic reflect ability monster at the front.
But, this is being equalizer rule set battle, the Fallen Specter can survive many rounds and I used this particularly for reducing melee and ranged attack from opponent's monster as this monster has those abilities.

5. Undead Archer:

Another monster with affliction ability, but I used this for it's 2 ranged attack.

6. Twisted Jester:

The last monster in my lineup was Twisted Jester.
It's speed, ranged attack and also snipe ability makes it a must use in this kind of battles.
Being a monster with dodge ability, it can have increased chances of evading the attack from sneak monsters from melee and ranged attack category.

Opponent used Fire Splinter with his monsters Chain Golem, Furious Chicken, Tower Griffin, Cyclops and Cocatrice.

Battle:

Round 1, 2 and 3:

This being an Equalizer rule set battle, the monsters were all having increased health and the First monster to be removed was the theme monster I used and being the front monster, it was there to take more attack and it could survive in First and Second rounds, but bowed out in round 3.

Round 4 and 5:

Opponent's front monster, Chain Golem became the next casualty to be removed in round 5 bringing Furious Chicken to the front.

image.png

Round 6:

Furious Chicken used in Second position by opponent was the monster which got removed and that means, opponent's Tower Griffin has to be in front position making it silent.

image.png

Round 7:

Tower Griffin became the next casualty to bring another ranged attack monster Cyclops to the front and opponent's progress in the battle was almost came to an end with only 1 attack Cocatrice to follow.

image.png

Round 8 and 9:

Cyclops got removed in round 9 and Cocatrice have to battle it out alone for opponent and it's 1 melee attack wasn't going to be sufficient.

Round 10:

It didn't take much time to get rid of opponent's last monster Cocatrice from the battle and that means, it was a win for me!!!!!

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

The usage of Animated Corpse with a tank healer in Corrupted Pegasus did the trick for me as other monsters could attack freely and even Fallen Specter's usage was also justified as it could reduce the melee and ranged attack by 3.
If I wasn't using the Animated Corpse, I probably would have gone out with Phantasm or Giant Scorpion and I could have still won it considering the lineup opponent had used.

Do I like the ANIMATED CORPSE? Why or why not?

I like the monster, but since there are many other options now, I keep this limited to Little League battles where I find this most useful.
Besides Little League, it is also useful in melee mayhem or Super Sneak battles as well.

That's all from me guys, I am sure you liked the details of this battle and got a point or 2 on why I used this specific lineup.
Thanks as always for the support I received from each of you in the form of votes, comments and suggestions.
Keep battling and yes, the Chaos Legion is not just less than 3 days away from allowing us to open the packs!!!!!
