Hello Friends,

Have you checked your Splinterlands asset value today? Yeah, that's what I keep doing every day using peakmonsters.com as the Splinterlands assets keep appreciating in the value.

We have a monster which is a tiny one yet powerful one when it comes to the abilities and the usefulness it gives to the lineup.

Yes, the featured monster for this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE weekly challenge is from Fire Splinter and the monster is Ant Miners.

Ant Miners is a common Fire splinter melee attack monster which is from Rewards cards category and has 2 useful abilities for it to be a backup front monster for little league battles and even this will be useful with Yodin Zaku in Second position when there is not enough MANA to use a good reach ability monster.

Statistics:

As for the stats are concerned for this monster, those are simple, it keeps having single melee attack unless it's upgraded to level 10 with 400 cards as that is when it will have 2 melee attack.

The Speed varies between 1 to 3 with starting level having 1 speed and 2 from level 2 to 7 and 3 from level 8 onwards.

If we upgrade this monster to level 4, it even will have have an armor which can be very handy if we can have a Flame Monkey for any weak magic battles.

The health keeps varying too between 1 to 3, but it can have additional health due to it having scavenger ability as that helps it to gain a health whenever a monster gets removed from either side of the battle.

As we discussed above, this monster has couple of good abilities for a 2 MANA cost monster and those are the abilities of scavenger which is available from level 1 and the other one being shield ability to have that extra protection against melee and ranged attack as the shield will enable it to have reduced damage from the 2 attack types mentioned.

Battle and Lineup:

As the battle screenshot above shows, this was a medium MANA cost battle with MANA cap of 24 and had 2 rule sets of Target Practice and Close Range.

The rule sets made me to use below lineup by using Yodin Zaku as summoner.

Lineup:

1. Cerberus:

A healing monster at the front solves most of the problems and this stayed alive until the battle got over and protected the monsters lined up in Second line.

It was able to survive against thorn throwing Living Lava and kept attacking it.

2. Ant Miners:

The theme monster never got a chance to attack as Cerberus didn't go away, so this was a silent spectator just kept increasing it's health with each monster died.

3. Fire Beetle:

Yodin Zaku usage means, we have to have more ranged attack monsters and this was one of the 3 I used in this battle.

I used this in Third position because it is the one with armors and since this will be the First target for the Target Practice battle, armors will help to get hit and still stay alive in this medium MANA cap battle.

4. Imp Bowman:

Second ranged attack monster specifically used for Target Practice rule set as this one is with 4 speed and will be among early attackers and *blast from Yodin Zaku means, it can attack 2 or 3 monsters based on the ranged/magic attack monsters placed.

5. Fire Elemental:

Last ranged attack monster and this one is with even better speed and like other 2 ranged attack monsters, this too can attack 2 or 3 monsters in each round.

6. Creeping Ooze:

Lastly, I used this 1 MANA cost monster to reduce the speed of the monsters by opponent and have additional advantage of attacking First.

Opponent used a Dragon summoner in Drake of Arnak with his monsters being Furious Chicken, Living Lava, Parasitic Growth, Fire Elemental and Tower Griffin

Battle:

Round 1:

There was not much scope for usage of high profile and high health ranged attack monsters since the MANA cap was only 24 and me using speed buster Creeping Ooze didn't go well with opponent as his monsters lost speed and his Fire Elemental got out without getting a chance to attack and that was it in the First round.

Round 2:

Things weren't much different in this round too as opponent lost Tower Griffin this time and his opportunity monster Parasitic Growth removed the Imp Bowman I had used.

image.png

Round 3:

Parasitic Growth had the scavenger ability, but it couldn't go beyond this round as the blast was always targeting that along with Living Lava and living Lava missing to hit Cerberus means, it got survived for another round.

Round 4:

It all got over as the Living Lava got removed and with that, the battle was won by me.

Blast always makes it difficult for even good monsters like Living Lava and the reduced speed also helped me to get over this early.

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Yes, quite nicely as we can see those 4 rounds of battle.

Once the Fire Elemental was removed, there wasn't much left for opponent except for Parasitic Growth and blast took away even that.

Do I like the ANT MINERS? Why or why not?

i use it in many battles like I mentioned above and yes, it's the one I like to use in some kind of rule sets and I will continue to do so.

What makes it to use in low MANA and little league battles is it's ability to scavenger and earn extra health and that will be handy in keeping other monsters active.

Line.jpg

That was a short and nice battle with ranged attack monsters doing most of the damage and helping me win this battle with ease.

Thanks for the support and wishing you all happy battling.

Thanks and Have a good day :)

Hey @coolguy. I love your use of the monster images. Are those publicly available or something you are manipulating on your own?

Hi, I just copy those images by right clicking on the Lore page in Splinterlands and display it using div tag in the blog.

If you are not using div tag, the images will be proportionally large and doesn't look good in the blog.

Happy battling :)
