How are you all doing? Hope your respective country has performed well in this year's Olympics held at Tokyo.
Well, India, my country has surpassed previous records for total medals in a single Olympics by winning 7 medals including a Gold medal.
OK, here I am with this blog for this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE weekly challenge and the featured monster this week is one of my favorites from Life Splinter and it's Cave Slug.
Let's see few details about the Cave Slug before we proceed to see the details of the battle.

Cave Slug is a Life splinter common category melee attack monster from Untamed version of cards and this is a monster with couple of nice abilities such as opportunity and scavenger and that makes it one of the most favorite monsters from Life Splinter.

Statistics:

Let's see the statistics for this opportunity monster.
As we see from the screenshot above, this monster starts with 2 melee attack and as we level this up, it can increase to 3 at level 3 and a maximum of 4 from level 9 and this is a level 10 monster requiring 400 cards to get it to maximum level.
The speed is on lower side too and it can get a maximum of 2 speed and that makes it one of the favorites for reverse speed battles.
The health part seems a better one with it's initial health at 4 and increases to 5 immediately from level 2 onwards and subsequently, it can have 6 health as max, but, the scavenger ability makes it to have additional health from level 6 onwards with each monster getting removed.
The abilities this monster possesses are like opportunity ability from level 1 which makes it to attack the monster with lowest health in each round.
The second ability is the scavenger which will be available from level 6 onwards requiring 100 cards to be combined and this ability makes it more powerful as it gets additional health whenever a monster gets removed from the lineup on either side of the battle.
The final ability this monster can possess is the ability of slow to slowdown opponent's monsters and this required exactly 400 cards to be combined.

Battle and Lineup:

This was one of those battles with maximum MANA cap and I had the liberty of choosing the monsters with best attack and health with that MANA cap.
The battle had 2 rule sets Stampede enabling the multiple trample if the attacked monster gets removed by a monster with trample ability.
The Second rule set was to use only odd MANA cost monster via Odd Ones Out rule set.
So, keeping those points in mind, below is the lineup I used to combat in this battle:

Lineup:

1. Lord Arianthus:

Normally, whenever I use Life splinter, Shieldbearer will be my First choice front monster, but, the Odd Ones Out rule set means, I can't use that and that made me to use Lord Arianthus as the front monster and it was a good one.

2. Sand Worm:

I use Sand Worm and Silvershield Assassin normally in almost all the battles when I use Life Splinter and that continued in this battle as well with Sand Worm at Second position.

3. Cave Slug:

Cave Slug, theme monster is another one which I use the most because of it's opportunity ability to get rid of low health monsters and this fits in Third position in this battle.

4. Silvershield Assassin:

like I said, this and Sand Worm are 2 sure starters in battles involving Life Splinter and this was good to keep attacking from the back end to remove those Water Elemental and other monsters the opponent had used.

5. Divine Healer:

A healer for this battle and it's slow ability also makes it a good one to use to have that early advantage of attacking the opponent's monsters and remove a couple of them before they get their turn to attack.

6. Silvershield Sheriff:

Lastly, I used Silvershield Sheriff to have the armors for all the friendly monsters and also have a snipe attack monster to check the magic and ranged attack monsters from Second line.

Opponent used Dragon Splinter summoner of Drake of Arnak and his monsters were Onyx Sentinel, Robo-Dragon Knight, Sand Worm, Torhilo The Frozen, Captain's Ghost and Water Elemental.

Battle:

99 MANA cap battles always involves the best in business monsters, but in this case, since the Odd Ones Out rule set was there, there were few favorite ones were missing and here is the round by round detail of the battle.

Round 1:

If we see the lineups, my lineup was most backend attacking one and opponent's was more concentrated at front monster and that made the battle interesting one with opponent having to potential front monsters waiting in his Second line in Robo-Dragon Knight and Torhilo The Frozen and my attack was towards the end of Second line and that made the opponent to lose Water Elemental and Captain's Ghost in round 1.

Round 2:

The next target for the monsters I used was the Torhilo The Frozen and it got poisoned by Silvershield Assassin and barring the removal and re-instate of Silvershield Sheriff, nothing much was there in this round.

Round 3:

Torhilo The Frozen was the First to go in this round followed by First loss for me in Silvershield Sheriff.

Round 4:

Sand Worm from opponent's lineup became the latest casualty and Onyx Sentinel was under constant attack by Cave Slug but it held it's breath to survive another round.

Round 5:

Onyx Sentinel got to go here and that brought the last man Robo-Dragon Knight to the front although it was too late for it.

Round 6:

The battle ended with Robo-Dragon Knight not getting a chance to attack at all and that was the victory for me!!!

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Yeah, I can say it worked well for me with even not having Shieldbearer at the front as Lord A was a good replacement for it to keep the front position intact.
If I wasn't using Lord A, I would have definitely used Shieldbearer if that was available to be used in the battle.

Do I like the CAVE SLUG? Why or why not?

I definitely like it and as I said, it's one of the 4 or 5 monsters I always use when I use Life Splinter.
Besides the opportunity attack monster, it also makes me to use it at Third position since it can scavenge and keep increasing it's health and can be a good option had I lose the First 2 monsters from my lineup.

That was a nice battle for this weekly challenge and Cave Slug, the theme monster was good to remove those armors and help Silvershield Assassin and Sand Worm get rid of some good monsters from that lineup of opponent.
Thanks for going thru this blog and I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Thanks and Have a good day :)
