Splinterlands Weekly Share Your Battle Challenge: Theme - Goblin Mech

Monday has already crossed in this week and that means, we have got a new Weekly Share Your Battle Challenge.

The theme as the above picture shows, is Goblin Mech, which, I am sure that one of the favorites for most of the battlers.

Goblin Mech is a neutral common monster and is one of the widely used monsters.

Let's throw some light on the melee attack, abilities, speed and health details along with armors.

Attack:

As we can see, this monster has melee attack 4 to 6 with levels 1 to 4 having 4 melee attack, 5 to 8 with 5 melee attack and 9 and 10 having 6 melee attack.

Speed:

The speed is constant across all the levels and is 3.

Armors:

Levels 1nd 2 have 5 armors, 3 to 7 with 6 armors and remaining levels with 7 armors.

Health:

Health starts with 6 in level 1; rises to 7 in levels 2, 3 and 6; 8 in levels 4, 5,7, 8 and 9 and rises to 9 in the last level i.e. 10.

Goblin Mech has abilities like Piercing and Stun.

Piercing
Piercing ability enables the monster to tresspass thru armors and reduce the health of attacked monster.
This ability is available from level 1 itself.

Stun
Stun ability deprives the stunned monster from next round attack and helps in extending the life of the monster which attacks.
Stun ability is available from level 6 onwards.

Battle:

This was a battle with 32 MANA cap and had scenario Up Close & Personal meaning, only melee attack monsters can be used.

I used Fire splinter just to use the extra melee attack it provides.

Opponent used Water splinter with monsters The Kraken, Electric Eels, Furious Chicken, Cocatrice, Sabre Shark and lastly Sea Monsters.

My Lineup:

Exploding Dwarf:

Used this as first monster just to encash the melee attack it has along with it's ability to retaliate.
This monster worked as I was looking for by attacking the Kraken twice, once with normal attack and then with a retaliate.

Goblin Mech:

I used this in second position because of it's armors and the attack of 5 along with Stun ability.

Giant Roc:

This has to be in second position to utilize the Reach ability it has and also the Trample ability.

Kobold Miner:

Wanted to use it for Sneaking, but opponent's The Kraken usage spoiled it. But, it was useful in removing The Kraken.

Serpentine Spy:

Used this for it's ability of Opportunity to take out less health monsters.

Elven Cutthroat:

Another one for Sneak ability to attack from other side.

Let's see the battle and how the monsters fared against each other:

Round 1:

As expected, the Exploding Dwarf attacked first ensuring *The Kraken and Electric Eels loses some health.

Retaliate from The Kraken also enabled Retaliate from Exploding Dwarf reducing health of The Kraken to 8 and removed Electric Eels without even allowing to attack once.

My Elven Cutthroat removed by Sabre Shark and eventually, The Kraken bowed out from combined attack of Goblin Mech and Giant Roc and trample from Giant Roc removed Furious Chicken as well.

This is how it looked after round 1:

Round 2:

Sabre Shark continued sneak attack to remove Serpentine Spy and Cocatrice evaded the attack from Goblin Mech and Giant Roc courtesy of Flying and Dodging abilities it has.

Round 3:

Sabre Shark was accurate enough with it's attacks to remove Kobold Miner and Cocatrice finally bowed out to Giant Roc after evading the attack from Goblin Mech again!!

Round 4:

There wasn't much action in round 4 as Sabre Shark evaded attacks from Goblin Mech and Giant Roc

Round 5:

Giant Roc attacked early in round 5 to remove Sabre Shark and trampleed the Sea Monster and finally, the Stun from Goblin Mech reduced the health of Sea Monster to 2.

Round 6:

Nothing much was left in round 6 as stunned Sea Monster was attacked again by Goblin Mech and got removed.

And that was the win for Goblin Mech and my other monsters.

Goblin Mech is best suited for Week Magic kind of battles and is definitely weak against magic attack, hence a NO for this when we expect the opponent to use Water splinter or other splinters with heavy magic monsters.

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Ofcourse, I use it a lot whenever I feel Stun ability is required and as I said, it's best utilized when there is *Weak Magic enabled.

What I could have tried differently is, to use a self healer with thorns monster at the back end to withstand and attack back sneaking monsters.

Do I use the GOBLIN MECH often? Why or why not?

Yes, I use it a lot whenever there is high MANA cap and I feel it can give me a win by combining with other monsters.

Stun and Piercing will be worth along with it's high melee attack.

These weekly challenges are fun and enables me to write longer and brings out the best author in me as each round and each attack is something to cherish ;)
