Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge: Dax Paragon

Hello Splinterfam! Here I am back again for this week's share your battle weekly challenge and for this week's challenge the featured monster is Dax Paragon. For thos of you who are new here I mainly play on silver league modern format so I would mostly talk about strategies, gameplay and battles on a silver level perspective. Now let's look at the stats of Dax Paragon.

  • Stats

Dax Paragon

Edition: Chaos Legion
Rarity: Epic
Element: Earth
Attack: Magic
Abilities: Amplify (Obtains Affliction at level 5)

If you take a look at his stats for max silver level (level 3) which requires 10 bcx to max him out for silver, he has 1 magic damage, speed, 0 armor and 4 health. The stats look pretty Meh but considering his mana cost which is 2 he is a very good card to have. He is very usable for low mana cap battles and because of his ability Amplify where he shines. His 2 mana cost makes him usable in mid mana cap battles because you can make him a filler for your line up. Also with the addition of the new rules Briar Patch, Fire & Regret, and Counterspell which gives all monster Thorn, Return Fire, and Reflect making Amplify very powerful ability in this scenarios.

  • Synergies

For summoner Dax Paragon is useful if used with Ilthain Because he gives all your monster Return Fire ability.

For monsters, Dax Paragon Synergizes well with:

  • Pelacor Conjurer because Pelacor Conjurer has the Reflect ability which he acquires at level 4
    image.png
  • Blinding Reflector also monster with Reflect ability which he acquires at level 5

For the Rules:

Briar Patch - All monsters receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle

Fire & Regret - All monsters receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle

Counterspell - All monsters receive the Magic Reflect ability at the start of the battle

  • Battle

The rule set were:
image.png

Equal Opportunity - All monsters have the Opportunity ability

Counterspell - All monsters have the Magic Reflect ability

Even Stevens - Only monsters with even mana cost can be used in battle

A 15 mana cap with all splinters available to use. I used life because of the counterspell rule and also because of the summoner Ilthain which would give all my monsters Reflect and Return fire ability. Plus since Dax Paragon is an even mana cost monster he could fit in my line up.

The line up I used was:

Ilthain - I use Ilthain as a summoner because of the return fire ability he gives plus the 1 speed for extra survivability for my monsters.

Pelacor Conjurer - One of the best tank for low mana cap battles because of his low mana cost and good stats and good abilities.

Soul Fiend - A zero mana cost monster best to use on low to mid mana cap battles. Serves as a meatshield only on the lower leagues.

Celestial Harpy - Low mana cost monster with high attack and good ability, stats are ok. Flying monster are good to have because flying monsters are harder to hit by not flying monsters which would give me a slight advantage if my opponent doesn't have any magic and flying monsters.

Dax Paragon - My key monster on this strat because of his amplify ability amplifying the return damage opponent receives.

Venari Crystalsmith - One of the best monster for me to use on life from low to mid mana cap battles because of the tank heal ability and an ok stats. I used Venari Crystalsmith to heal Pelacor Conjurer.

The battle went well but it is very close some crucial attack miss from both side occured luckily the battle went to my favor (lol) and the amplify helped me win the battle. Kindly click this link if you want to watch the battle.

  • Conclusion

Dax Paragon is a good card to have but it is not something you can always fit in a line up. He has a good stats for his mana cost the only thing lacking for him is attack damage for him to be very useful. I barely use him because I always run Grandmaster Rathe as my summoner whenever I am using a Life line up but with the addition of the rules I mentioned earlier I found a good use for him in my line up.
