My daily Splinterlands battle journal!!! Episode 008 Year 2023

Wow, what a busy day! Unfortunately, my performance went south. However, the brawls ended, I could open a Gladius case, and I also got sweet, sweet cards!

My yesterday's 10 reward chests had 0.558 SPS, four Alchemy Potions, a Venari Heatsmith, two Vampire Bat, two Pelacor Conjurer and a Blood Maker. Very cool! Good beginning of the week with six cards!

I began the week with a Dragon focus. It is usually good, but this time was just a burden! Every time I wanted to use it, I messed up horribly! I won 13 of 28 battles for a 46.4% win rate. That means that I lost more battles than I won them. Awful! I had for those battles, 3.054 SPS and I hit 1,963 rating points, losing 24 points compared to yesterday's rating.

For tomorrow, I will have again 10 reward chests, and for my next End of Season, I had three more chests today, 56 total! I think I slowed down my chest earnings due to botched focuses, like the one today. At this rate, if I get close to 70 chests, I would feel alright! That is how hard I'm feeling recently with those battles.

I can't complain this time about my performance in my brawls, though! I won four battles, lost three and got 12 points! I also had 16.113 SPS and 1,050 merits, meaning I could open a Gladius case!!! So cool! My Gladius this time had an Isgald Vorst, Hugo Stronghold, Helmet Kharafax, Witch of Warwick and Liza Fox! And finally, I had enough Witches to level them up! That one was hard to level up, but now I'm a proud owner of a level 2 Witch! So awesome! However, I need to learn to use her much better. Sometimes, I use that card and got mixed results. Let's hope I can master it soon enough!

Speaking of brawls, I will show you today one of them! This battle had a restriction of 26 mana and the rulesets were "Weak Magic" and "Fire & Regret". The first ruleset states that every magic attack from your opponent, hit first in your armor. The second one is that every monster gains the ability to return fire when your opponent's monsters use range weapons. I usually avoid using magic and range weapons because they become usually a weakness in your offensive strategy. For example, when magic hits in a very strong armor, it loses most of the damage in the first rounds, and with the second ruleset, you end up getting your attack back with the range weapons. However, this time I made something different. I used Quora as a tank, which is extremely powerful with her double attacks and tank heal, but not infallible. I added a Goblin Tower due to its explosion ability, and I sat Goblin Chariot in there because I forgot the ruleset and it was small enough to fit in this battle. Although I got many of my attacks thrown back at me, and the magic was received by hefty armors, I prevailed at the end and won.
