Splinterlands: meta vs market - hidden gem!?
Greetings fellow splinterlanders and blockchainers of Hive!
You landed - hopefully safely!
This is 1. post in creeptor`s meta vs market review series.
We will have a look at 1 (underpriced?) card per post - short and sweet.
1.Pros and cons when it comes to battling (modern league) + battle review.
2.Comparable cards prices vs chosen card price.
I have been creeping over Splinterlands battlefield and SL card market simultaneously and I happened to stumble upon hidden gem.

BAM!
Its one and only Jared Scar.
He is 300 years old BTW and you were all ignorant of that fact😔, I just know it.
His own mother got rid of him😕. So he was adopted. By Scar😈.
You get it ...? Jared SCAR.😅
For another fact: he is also cool as ... idk, half vampire, maybe?
You say
more?
I say
check out Splinterlands lore!
Lets dive into it.
- 5-7⚔️, he is packing. (+)
- Bloodlust, his first ability, is one of the rarest and strongest abilities in SL (excluding gladiator cards). If you were looking for a single ability to turn battlefield in your favour, you found it! (+)
- True strike on level 2 paired with piercing on level 3 makes for fun One Punch Man combo. (+)
- He thrives in melee dominated rulesets: (+)
... making equal opportunity not so equal.
... melee m(a)yhem his mayhem.
... and super sneak really ...idk... super?
On the other hand ...
- He is not particulary beefy, 4-6 ♥️ + 2 🛡 (—)
- On a snail-scale he is 2 snails, which is obviously only twice as fast as a snail; in all seriousness with 2 speed he is slower than most cards, even at level 4, which is not most desirable trait; even though it is one that should made him OP in reverse speed rulesets - but then again ... he has ... bloodlust ... + speed on kills ... kinda ... (in that particular case) working against himself. (—)
- Hard to position outside of specific rulesets. No reach, no sneak... nothing. And yes, he can rarely frontline. (—)
- He smokes. Cigars look freaking cool ... but are bad for your health ... supposedly. (—)
TAKE A LOOK AT HIM SMOKING SOMETHING ELSE! UNCENSORED!

Before and after thingy ... reversed. He was relatively thin ...
and then all of a sudden ... ONE PUNCH MAN on Baakjira!
As you can see, he is best in pair with martyr ability - helping his bloodlust getting started.
Forcefield, on the flip side, kills all his fun. Making his attacks deal 1 damage. We avoided it this time tho. 😌
For the market side of things ...
We are looking at total BCX of most printed Chaos Legion main set legendaries vs BCX of Chaos Legion reward legendaries, latter number is lower, which is always good 😜
On top of that legendaries from main set are still in print (in packs), while there will never be another Jared.
What about the price?
At the time of writing this post Jared is somehow one of the cheapest Chaos Legion legendaries overall and THE CHEAPEST between comparable ones. Maybe SL community isn`t too keen on cigars and half-vampires.
Conclusion.
You do you, but I`m getting myself another Jared right now. He is relatively scarce, underpriced (IMO), op in more than few situations, fun to experiment with/trying to trick your foes. (His baseball bat makes me think he knows thing or two about curve balls.😂)
