The beginning of a story usually is a revelation of sorts that carries a different meaning at each part of the story. This probably is not the case, it's just the chronicling of a journey to turn a very modest Splinterlands card collection into something much more. Chasing bigger and better, this modest collection is the "One Red Paperclip", but it has much more monetary value. The mission for "One Red Paperclip" was to buy a house. Exceeding expectations and the mission is the hope, but the mission is somewhat similar to Kyle MacDonald's when he made his series of trades.

Turning a Modest Collection into a Splinterlands Land Tract

One of the major challenges with Splinterlands as it pertains to Land is that due to scarcity and relative illiquidity, seeking out a larger piece of digital property is difficult. A Tract of Land is 100 contiguous plots of Land in one given area. At this time, it would be easy to liquidate this modest collection and purchase one plot of Land. There would be nothing to chronicle in this case and it would certainly not be fulfilling to call it a day after purchasing a plot in the Land of Prosperity region of Praetoria.

Ideally, the Land Tract to be purchased would be located in the Shimmering Coasts region of Praetoria. However, the Land of Prosperity and Great Lowlands would be considerations as well, if the opportunity arose and Shimmering Coasts Land Tracts were not available.

Prices are subject to change, everything depends upon availability and market conditions. The variability of the market can make reaching the goal easier or more difficult.

This is the "End Goal" for this journey, but there is more to be accomplished in the aftermath. However, this is a fine goal to reach as it is out-of-reach and it would carry a lot of value.

Readers can see the full collection at any time. Anyone's collection can be queried, so it's not like this is much of a secret.

Are there any Ground Rules to this Challenge?

The only true Ground Rule for this Challenge is that there is not to be any funding coming from outside of the Hive Blockchain. Assets will be moved back and forth between Splinterlands and Hive Wallet frequently for asset preservation and short-term speculation.

Outside of that, the objective is to make the necessary buying and selling moves that will grow the value of the collection. There are no limits on what type of assets to purchase. This means that there may be packs, land plots, totems, titles, tokens, and other assets purchased with the expectation of price appreciation.

Will every trade be chronicled?

Painfully, yes. Some days, there may be many transactions and other days there may be no updates because there's nothing to update. This is going to be interesting to say the least.

Some asset purchases and sales will be broken down in more detail explaining the logic behind the decisions made. However, everything will be chronicled.
