How is the Largest Bot Farm Adjusting to the New Changes in Splinterlands?

A Look at How the Largest Bot Farm in Splinterlands is taking to this era of change.

Here we are again, talking about bot farms. Actually, just one. The one that matters most, the one that sets the Rewards and Chaos Legion card market pricing and is responsible for much of the revenue generated in the rental market. One bot farm that does all of this and while it may seem like there are multiple bot farms, this is the big one. We're going to see how the "A-Team" Bot Farm is adjusting to the new normal and what it means for you.

First a Look at the Macros After the ECR and Rental Changes

Transactions hit their 30 day low yesterday.

image.png

On July 22, 2022, battles hit a Year to Date Low and then rose by 400,000 on July 23, 2022.

image.png

The number of active players hit a 30 day Low on July 22, 2022 and then rose to a figure that is more consistent with the New Rewards Era average.

image.png

Look at all these accounts created and the lack of spellbooks purchased. Remember when there was FOMO about the last 100,000 packs to be sold before Grandmaster Rathe was to be released? Those new accounts are created nearly at the same time as that big surge of Chaos Legion pack purchases. What happened there? Why isn't anyone talking about this?

The A-Team Bot Farm Operation

Meet Duong95, this player is a bot. Duong95 feeds cards to Anhdaden146, one of the seller accounts on the card market that are part of this bot farm operation.

Duong95 collected 16 Bronze chests and in there were 2 cards, which were transferred to Anhdaden146.

image.png

The Hive Blockchain Record shows this history. Three minutes after transferring the cards over, the cards from the feeder accounts that mined cards during that short period of time are put on the market in a batch together by the Anhdaden146 account for sale 3 minutes later.

Notable Seller Accounts in this Farm:

  • Anhdaden146
  • Aaronnn
  • Dhoangphat1
  • Aalagertha
  • Aabjorn
  • Aafloki
  • Aarogers
  • Aahvitserk

image.png

This massive bot network is still operating, but not all accounts are operational at the same time. For instance, Duong94 has not played since July 20 and it drained itself down to 30% ECR.

image.png

The resource allocation is quite interesting among these bot accounts.

Just to make a comparison, here's Duong94 vs. Duong95.

image.png

image.png

What makes Duong95's rental collection interesting is that there is an obvious ploy to get Collection Power over cards with utility. It also seems that Duong95 had a Death Focus on the day that these rentals were made as there is an emphasis on Death cards, but other cards were rented for the purposes of ensuring that a lineup can be presented when Death is not an option. When Death is not an option, the summoner used is a starter card. Only Thaddius Brood is being rented.

image.png

Who needs to rent THREE Djinn Renovas at Level 6? This is a move to get Duong95 into the Silver League to get better Loot Chests. It worked because Duong95 was able to get 16 Bronze Chests, but only 2 common cards.

The Adjustments to the Changes

Duong94 was turned off at 30% on July 20, 2022. Duong94 started a daily focus on July 23, 2022. Coincidence? Definitely not. While Duong95 stopped playing at 51.18% ECR.

image.png

Duong95 would return to action 90 minutes later for three matches.

image.png

Have we stumbled on the new Win Trading strategy?

Dig deeper into Duong95's past matches and this may be a new adjustment.

image.png

It's an intriguing handshake of a match, two bots in the same farm. One is on a Death Focus and the other is on a Water Focus. The Death Splinter is not available so Duong95 rolls over and surrenders to Hoanganh134.

image.png

How do we know that Hoanganh134 is on a Water Focus? The cards say it all and so does the API.

The New Rules for the A-Team's Bots

Rule #1: Only rent a set of cards for 2 days if there is a Splinter focus.

Rule #2: Spam the Splinter focus at the lowest level.

Rule #3: If the Splinter focus is not available and the opponent is in the bot farm with the focus Splinter available to them, roll over and lose.

Rule #4: If a Splinter focus is not available on the second day of rented cards, play like it is the previous day.

Rule #5: Never let the ECR fall below 50%.

Has the Card Market Changed?

Rewards Cards are no longer selling for 1,000+ Collection Power to $1. This is a massive shift.
