Hello Hive gaming community! I’m taking part in the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge. For this week, my post is about how guilds make us better players. I play free to play so all the cards I have were earned in the game. I appreciate that even if we don't spend a penny we can still play and win against higher level teams. My guild plays a part in making me a better player.

⚔️🛡️ Guild Brawls 🛡️⚔️

The first benefit of joining a guild is the guild brawls. It's a contest against other guilds using available cards in battle. Participants in the brawl will receive rewards depending on the placement of the guild at the end of the brawl. Players earn merits and SPS. Since I don't have a spellbook yet, I only earn merits that I spend to buy gladiator chests.

⚔️🛡️ Gladiator Cards 🛡️⚔️

Gladiator cards are special cards that can only be used in brawls. There is a modifier that allows the use of gladiator cards in ranked battles. Gladiator cards are more strong than my Foundation cards. They have the Bloodlust ability, allowing them to grow stronger after every kill. Take for example the latest card I got.

It's only a rare card but it's magic attack is just as strong as the Mystic Scaleweaver, a legendary card that will have three magic attack when it reaches level two. Captain Katie is only level one but already three magic attack she has. I already used her in my latest brawl battle and she won me the battle.

⚔️🛡️ Guild Buildings 🛡️⚔️

Guild buildings give permanent advantages to all the members in the guild.

Lodge - Gives glint bonus rewards from ranked battles. It also gives discounts in the shop for purchases made with DEC.

Arena - The larger the arena, the bigger the brawls. The higher level also increases the guild's tier and the SPS rewards multiplier.

Barracks - The most benefit that can be gained from upgrading barracks is boosting the level of gladiator cards in brawls. Level two barracks allow Bronze level and level five barracks allow Silver level gladiator cards.

Store - Increases the merit bonus received from brawls. Level two store allows us to buy gladiator chests. We can also buy boosters like blood stone and power stone to increase the chances of getting legendary and gold foil cards.

⚔️🛡️ Card Delegations and Gifts 🛡️⚔️

Our guild leader delegates me cards that I use in brawls. I don't have a regular fray so I'm delegated cards depending on the fray I was assigned to. The cards that I use are much different than the Foundation cards. They are not even used in the Modern format anymore. It's much more fun and challenging to use because I have to form teams on the fly with cards I'm not used to play with.

Our guild leader gifted me some Foundation set cards that included archons. It was a huge improvement because it allowed me to use higher level cards in battles. It also motivated me to buy cards to level them up.

⚔️🛡️ Motivation and Social Interaction 🛡️⚔️

Being a part of a guild motivated me to step up my game. It motivated me to play better in brawls to carry my own weight. I was removed from my previous guild because of my poor showing in brawls so this time I made sure to do my part and carry my weight.
