Hello Hive gaming community! For my entry in this week's Social Media
Challenge, I talk about Up Close & Personal modifier. Up Close & Personal is one of the battle modifiers that modify how a battle works by restricting the kinds of cards we can use. In this instance, we can only use melee cards. When I'm confronted with this modifier, there are two elements I choose with a possible third choice.

⚔️🛡️ Up Close & Personal 🛡️⚔️

In Up Close & Personal modifier, we can only summon units with melee attacks. We cannot include units with ranged or magic attacks when this modifier is encountered so the cards we can use is very limited. The limitation if felt much more in the Frontier where there are fewer cards compared to other formats. Cards with two attacks like Great Bear Druid are allowed. I have already teams prepared when this modifier is active. I have sample battles in Earth and Fire. I also have ideas with Life and Water which I will write about.

⚔️🛡️ Earth 🛡️⚔️

My Earth team is composed of Dread Tafarian and Mad Gearhead then I will include units depending on the available mana. Dread Tafarian is a good tanker due to having the ability to heal itself. It is the only card that has this ability. Mad Gearhead is placed behind him and can attack with reach ability. For high mana, I include New Beluroc Aegis in the team to attract attacks. I then include units that can attack from any position like Vengeful Monk and Vicious Quilliun. For me this is an effective team for the Up Close & Personal modifier. As an example, my team beat a higher level team that used different team members.

⚔️🛡️ Fire 🛡️⚔️

The Fire team has the same combo in the front. Frankarsgard and Chaos Furybringer have the same role but I think they are weaker than Dread Tafarian and Mad Gearhead combo. Frankarsgard has high health but no healing. Furybringer has more speed but lower health than Mad Gearhead. The other cards are the same formula, I have Vengeful Monk and Echelon that can attack from the back. If the mana was higher, I will include New Beluroc Aegis.

My opponent had Death element. I think this has the weakest melee cards. Nim Guard Captain is best against magic and Savage Butcher has the weakest attack with reach ability.

⚔️🛡️ Life 🛡️⚔️

I don't have a sample battle with Life so instead I will tell how I make my team. Life element's advantage is armor for added defense. The three units are necessary in the team.

Twice Yester Knight and Paprikash combo in the front. This is followed by my usual formula. New Beluroc Aegis if there is enough mana and then Sherringham Logger and Vengeful Monk. I can also include Great Bear Druid who can attack with magic.

⚔️🛡️ Water 🛡️⚔️

Water can have an advantage with Great Bear Druid who can attack with magic. The front will be made up of Port Guardian and Colossus Raider combo.

The other members are neutral units. New Beluroc Aegis will attract attacks. Kanaaq Miner and Vengeful Monk can attack from the back. The best card is Great Bear Druid who has two attacks. His magic attack will be stronger with water element. The archon adds +1 to magic.

⚔️🛡️ Death 🛡️⚔️

I will only choose Death element in Up Close & Personal modifier if there are no other choices. I think it is the weakest in terms of melee. Death's best melee card is Nim Guard Captain and he is built against magic attacks, not melee.
