In our tournaments, we try to bring a live event to Splinterlands tournaments. We mix tournament fights with a Splinterlands-related gameshow for our viewers to win some great prizes to help them with their Splinterlands journey.

We have made recent changes to try to combat bots from entering our tournaments and ruining the experience for the players that enter our tournaments. We have recently added KYC and making players check in to play. By implements these changes, we have reduced the amount of bots that enter who farm the rewards, and allow the players to gain the rewards they deserve for battling on their own. By making players check in 15 minutes before the tournament starts, it reduces the amount of no-shows which reduces the wait time for those who have shown up to the tournament.

By having these small changes, we hope that it allows the players to talk more freely in the stream chat and have more tournament banter between themselves. As we continue to stream, we will continue to improve the stream layout to boost the viewing experience, and also the way we have our SPL tournaments to ensure that the players have enough time and leagues to play with.

Single Tournament Format:

Our single tournaments are knockout tournaments which are either Bronze or Silver league. This format will have KYC enabled and make sure potential players check in. As this should be almost like a quick fire tournament, by enforcing these features will ensure the health of the event is high as it reduces the amount of bots that enter and also reduces the amount of people that are no shows.

Double Tournament format:

A double tournament will have one knockout and one rounded tournament starting at the same time. By having one of each, it allows players to be able to play in both and have enough time to focus on their battles and not rush them. Double tournaments will always have the same league (either Bronze or Silver) as we believe that this can help players reduce the amount of cards they would need to rent if they wanted to enter both. Much like the single format, KYC and check ins will be a factor to be eligible to play.

Sponsored Tournament Format:

When we run a sponsored tournament they will be a part of one of our double tournament formats. This allows us to spend more time in showing the viewers the game that is sponsoring that tournament. Occasionally, the prizes that can be won in the Twitch streams will be for the sponsors game, which gives viewers a leg up in a new game and get in before others. Splinterlands items will also be apart of the giveaways prizes too so those who do not want to try out a new game yet can still win something they enjoy playing currently.

The difference between our sponsored and single/double tournaments is that KYC is not a requirement to join. Players will still need to check in to avoid those who do not show up but you do not need to worry about being a verified player.

World League Tournament (Coming Soon):

We are currently in the process of creating a World League for the Splinterlands community. The idea (in short!) is to have a tournament on Twitch that will not be included on the Splinterlands Tournaments page. There will be three team for each country (A Team, B Team and C Team), and each team will play another countries team and share their match on stream by sending a link. This new segment will allow more people to play in a 'tournament' and will allow players to go up leagues within their country (much like a world cup!).

All A team countries will player each other and that is the same for B and C teams. The results will be recorded in a table and a play off tournament will be hosted for the top teams.

As this is a work in progress, the format may change on this tournament but I believe this will be a great format going forward as we can meet new players from all over the world.

Team League Tournament (Coming Soon):

Another thing that is being worked towards is a Team League tournament. With this, I am trying to build a Splinterlands league which allows new teams to enter the tournament at the end of each season once a team has been relegated.

Each team will consist of five players and two substitutes incase someone cannot turn up to the tournament. As this is another work in progress, I can't reveal more in this post but keep an eye out more more information on Peakd posts for this format.

Tournament podcast:

As we have another slot on SplinterlandsTV, we have dedicated this new slot to have an open discussion about the tournament ecosystem. Each week we will have a different topic of discussion and have interviews with tournament players in various ranks who can discuss their tournament experience on the topic in hand. This new show allows players to have their views discussed in an open environment and what they like or dislike about something mentioned in the discussion.

As we continue with this show, more elements will be added to the podcast but if you do have a topic you would like to discuss you can send me a message on Discord and get that worked into the schedule.

How the game show works:

When we are about to open 4-5 packs, we will ask viewers to guess a number between 1 - 15/20 and also a splinter colour. Once we announcing guessing is no longer allowed, we will open the packs and flip the cards in order of what was guessed. Unsubscribed viewers can only have one guess whereas subscribed viewers can guess up to three different cards.

Rules:
Unsubscribed and Tier 1 subscribes can only win common and rare cards (not summoners) that are regular foiled.

Tier 2 subscribers can win the above and also Epic cards that are regular foiled and Gold Foil common or rare cards (not summoners).

Tier 3 subscribes can win everything including Legendary cards that are regular foiled and Common, Rare and Epic Gold Foil cards (not summoners).

If a Gold Foil or summoner cards is guessed correctly by a unsubscribed or Tier 1 subscriber, they can chose a replacement card from that splinter. (EG: 1 Water was guessed, Kelya was the card, the viewer can pick any rare water card in its place.)

All prizes must be claimed in the Claim your prize Zard and Beccss channel in our Discord with your IGN and the card that was won.

How the game works:

In between rounds and before we start Guess That Splinter, a wheel will be spun for the next giveaway. As Nightbot will be deciding who wins, by having this just before we open packs allows everyone in the stream to chat to get picked up for the giveaway. Subscribers will get 2x luck of being picked.
If a subscriber is picked by Nighbot, they also have the option to spin either the Crypto wheel or the NFT wheel which has loads more Splinterlands goodies to be won.

How the game show works:

The viewers can spend 480 channel points and challenge Zard to a game of Splinterlands. You get to chose the league and rule type. If you beat Zard you will get 100 DEC as a reward.

Details on the tournament point system

If you place in the top 7 in any of our Splinterlands tournaments and you are a subscriber, you will be able to gain tournament points. At the end of the month we total up all the points and the top 3 players with the most point win prizes.
