My debut to Splinterlands

HelloWorld.jpg

My journey started a week ago...

The glow of my monitors reflected off of my glasses as I took another swig of my room-temperature Coca-Cola. Year three of the global pandemic was underway and I had started it off hungover after a night of drinking alone - the city in lockdown to prevent more cases of the disease.

But as I sat staring at my portfolio of cryptocurrencies and NFTs spread over 17 exchanges, 6 different chains, and 26 different wallet apps I thought to myself - this year is going to be different. This is going to be my year.

I've spent the past year researching NFTs and playing all sorts of different videogames on the blockchain but still hadn't found one that felt right. Then it happened. Splinterlands happened.

I was immediately hooked...

After only a matter of minutes and with barely any games played, I was in love. This was an experience I was actually enjoying. As time went on I found myself more and more invested. I sat at the edge of my worn office chair. My mouse hand shook as I clicked "Rumble". Sure, I could skip to the results - but where's the fun in that? I watched as one by one the monsters fell away from the battlefield. The suspense was fiercer than a Frost Lion. And as my Serpent of Eld dodged my opponents last attack, I screamed and jumped out of my chair! Victory!!!

Fast forward to today...

With a few tournaments (cough losses) under my belt and a slightly larger deck of cards to play with, I'm super excited about Splinterlands and my future within the universe it has created around itself.

I used to live stream on Twitch regularly, playing a game that was sadly shut off by the developers called Duelyst. I haven't been able to find my passion for streaming since, but I hope to start up again to stream Splinterlands content. This game has me truly excited!

Thanks to everyone for reading my first blog post! I'll be work on getting my deck power up and increasing my win rate so I can join a good guild. Since you made it this far in the article, I have a simple assignment for you!

  • What times are best for a Splinterlands content creator to stream?
  • What's your number one tip for a brand new player?
  • Post a comment and Upvote this post if you liked it!

Hello, @cryptofrost! This is @anggreklestari from the @OCD team. We saw that you already posted your first post here in Hive Blockchain! Congratulations and welcome!

Well, you can explore the communities that are suitable for your content. You can read some of the communities in this post: OCD Communities Incubation Program

For tips and information as a Hive newbie, click here: newbie guide.

The important thing is Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog. You can't include content that you don't own without sources. For more information, check this post: Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise.

If you have questions or concerns, you can hop into OCD's Discord server and we'll gladly answer your questions.

Have a great day!

I'm fairly new to Splinterlands but my best advice to new players is to join the communities asap! Tons more fun and a lot of rewards to be gained that way
