A quick hello and introduction to my fellow Splinterlands players and monster hunters :)

For years now, I've been having fun learning games such as CryptoKitties, AxieInfinity and others of it's type. It has naturally led to an interest in the developing markets for NFT's and the emergence of blocking based gaming.

Splinterlands seemed like the perfect fit!

Small Steps

It took most of the day to setup my Splinterlands and Hive accounts. However, the majority of the time was done reading articles and watching videos so that I could get off to a better start. I think I'm a quick learn and will eventually get the hang of it :)

A little bit of foundation building was needed before diving all the way in.

It seemed pretty important to add a bit of hive and power up my account, which is the first thing that I did, followed up by creating a simple profile for my Hive account using @PeakD.

Afterwards, it was on to Splinterlands!

I picked up a Summoner's Spellbook, staked some SPS, rented a couple of cards, and purchased my first Chaos Legion Booster pack. However, getting to know the Hive-Engine token exchange and Peakmonsters marketplace took me a bit of time to put it all together.

All together, I was rewarded with a good first day! Completing my first daily quest got me some a Pelacor Deceiver, and my first pack opening game me TWO gold foil cards!!

Not too bad on the first take :)
Of course... I topped up on the Legendary and Alchemy potions before opening.

Next Steps

Moving forward, it would be nice to get more involved in the community and see where it leads. Posting some battle challenges and season report cards seem like a good first step. It might even be nice to try my hand at a few giveaways to help promote @Splinterlands.

As for now, I'm anxious to battle it out in some tournaments and find a guild. We'll see how the process goes.

Also... a quick shout out to both the @oneup and @hivepizza communities for there promotion and support of the Hive gaming ecosystem. I look forward to getting to know you more!
