Greeting fellow battlemages, this week we will be looking at the Cheshire cat look-a-like Feral Spirit. A well rounded fast sneak card for the life faction (Lvl 1 Stats: Health 2, Speed 4, Melee 1, Cost 3) A card previously available in the default spellbook this card will only be seeing play in the Wild format in the future. Good even at lvl 1 the Feral Spirit truly is a tenacious varmint with a very fast 4 speed.

Strategy and Placement

In the battle located here I placed feral spirit towards the middle. Mother Khala's buff granted an additional health meaning tank heal would heal 2 hp instead of one in the event of the eventual fall of Crystal werewolf. I predicted a magic lineup and placed Crystal Werewolf to absorb the brunt of the damage. The heal was able to outlast the opponent's damage. And scattershot wasn't lucky enough to take out my feral spirit in time. If he didn't go the very popular earth magic lineup in the recent meta, it is likely this match would be a much different outcome.

The enemy's damage being nullified allowed for the survival of my low man tank in this 4 cost or less ruleset match. Additionally having random fodder like the fiend and the chicken allowed scattershot to be further diffused in this case.

Talking Tidbits and Last Week's Giveaways

The Feral Spirit despite having a similar appearance to the Cheshire cat does not in fact hail from the land of Alice in wonderland. In fact here is the excerpt

"Forever caught between dimensions, the Feral Spirits (and all Luminous Beasts) are the result of the Obliteration of Light, a horrible destructive event in which all the living vanished from the surface of Khymeria. These spirits do not hunger or thirst, but their fangs still bite and their claws still slash."
