Only Goblins: Only Victory

This week BOTH of these battles feature ONLY goblin characters. It is rare these lineups will be effective in high level play, but I had a blast doing it. It is also rare to be able to play all these cards all at once to begin with due to all the random ruleset qualifiers. but here they are. Two victories with ONLY goblins, which reveals surprising synergy.

Earth Goblins: They Came from the Trees!

The Gobsons rule the earth Splinter goblins as a criminally syndicated family with it's pockets everywhere. As far as gameplay is concerned the earth goblins seem to boast a heavy amount of backline damage. Goblin mechs are used by both territories and will be present in both battles.

In my battle located here I utilize Goblins in EVERY slot. The equalizer ruleset added substantial value to my armored mech AND every light glass cannon used in the other 5 positions. Their new 12 hp base allows for tank heal to be much more utile, additionally it should be noted that Goblin Chef added affliction and prevented 2 of the enemy's creatures from healing in position 1.

In this fight, Goblin Mech possessing the stun ability was key to victory and stunned the opponent's front AND backline. Affliction on goblin chef also was a key factor. The enemy went for a high ranged distribution life lineup. With 2 very heavy tanks in front (likely to buffer from a yodin prediction). However instead I was using both Wizard of Eastwoood (The summoner that reduced all enemies armor by 2) but I also had affliction to combat tank heal etc. The enemy had high damage to the backline but it was not enough. In this case concentrating the fire upon the position 1 tank was not to their benefit.

Fire Goblins: Some Like It Hot

The goblins of the burning lands are a tough brutal sort, crafting war machines to skirmish amongst each other across the Burning lands. This second lineup sports every current goblin available for the fire splinter (Including goblin mech which is a technology used by goblins from both factions).

In my battle located here I used yodin zaku and the extent of the fire goblin arsenal. In short Yodin's blast made quick work of this low damage lineup with many buffers. This match also was in the equalizer ruleset so Goblin Mech was much tankier (along with all additional goblins). Another instance of taunt and damage focus being a determent instead of a benefit.
