Your Quick Guide to Splinterlands Land Cards

A new era arrives in Splinterlands today (December 2nd, 2025) as we have the first release of Land Cards, a new type of card specifically designed to enhance production on land plots!
These cards can be crafted in-game, and existing land owners have a limited window to create theirs before the feature opens up to the general public. Read on for a quick guide with what you need to know about Splinterlands Land Cards!

What are Splinterlands Land Cards?
Splinterlands Land Cards are a new, limited edition card type specifically designed to be slotted into worker spots on land plots. They cannot be used in battles, and they only way they can be acquired is through crafting or through random discoveries on lands.
The Land Cards introduce several new abilities, aimed at modifying resource efficiency and discovery on land plots:
- Production Buffs: Abilities such as Bountiful Grain, Bountiful Wood, Stone, Iron, and Aura provide a percentage increase to the production of a specific resource on the plot where the card is staked. Note on Stacking: If a plot is receiving multiple production bonuses, only the single most beneficial bonus is applied; production buffs do not stack.
- Energized: A utility ability that allows the Land Card to function as a substitute for a Power Core, providing the necessary power for the slot without the need for an external core.
- Dark Discount: Provides a reduction in the amount of DEC that is required to be staked to the plot in order for it to function at 100% efficiency.
- Toil and Kin: Grants a production bonus if one of the other worker cards on the plot has the required Bloodline specified by the Land Card.
- Labor's Luck: This key ability is attained by all cards in this set upon reaching their maximum level. It provides the player with a chance to "discover" rare and hidden items or card variants deep within Praetoria.
Once crafted, Land Cards can be slotted into a worker slot on a land plot and will immediately start providing bonuses.
Land Cards have levels and they can be combined to create cards of higher levels which bring additional abilities and increased bonuses. The combining system functions just the same way as the other cards in the Splinterlands system.
Land Cards will be fully tradeable, so you can always consider purchasing from the markets if you can't make your own or need additional copies to level up with.

How to craft Land Cards
Technically, you won't need to own land, to craft these cards, but you will need various land resources, including Aura, which is a soulbound resource, so you will need to either already have Aura on hand, or harvest some through land plots.
Land Cards can be crafted in-game under Land -> Artisan Quarter -> Cards.
Once on the crafting page, you can select the card rarity and quantity you wish to craft. The page will show you how much of each material is required, and also show how many Allocation Rights you have.

For the first three days (through December 5th), those with Allocation Rights have guaranteed crafting allotments based on a snapshot of land holdings that was taken a couple of weeks ago. After the three days are up, crafting of land cards is unlimited for everyone (though of course you still need the resources). The total amount of Land Cards available in this set is limited, and there is some expectation that the lower rarities may sell out quickly.
The craftable versions of the Inaugural Land Cards are created within the Artisan Quarter and require two core components:
- Land Resources: Resources produced directly on the land plots (Grain, Wood, Stone, Iron, and/or Aura)
- Cinder: A new, non-transferable ingredient generated by burning non-soulbound Splinterlands cards at a rate of 1.5 times the Collection Power (CP) of the burned card (note: Cards must also not be locked onto land or wagons in order to be burned) (2nd note: Soulkeep cards can also be burned for Cinder)
In addition to the Regular Foil craftable cards, there are ultra-rare collectible variations, including Gold Foil, Black Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, and Black Foil Arcane. These premium versions are not craftable and can only be obtained through the discovery mechanic provided by the Labor's Luck ability.

It should be noted that this is considered a trial run and the expansion and continued development of the Land Card system will depend on player reception for this new feature.
