Greetings to everyone!

Did you know that a playable deck provided by Splinterlands can win up to Silver League with no sweat? If a bot user having a mulitple accounts and set up the bots cleverly. Sometimes, these bots win rate is almost like at 80% perfection. They know exactly how to counter your sure win move.
This is one of the issues that needs to be eye on Splinterlands.
Thankfully the devs arent just sitting for nothing, instead they made solutions to these kind of problems.

Lately an update was release talking about

  • DEC Ranked Battle Rewards

"Starting shortly after the end of the current ranked play season on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, the DEC rewards given out for a ranked battle win will be based on the minimum of the winning player's current rating and the maximum rating for their current league within the game.

For example, if a player's ranked battle rating is currently 2,500 and they are in the Silver I league, then when they win a ranked battle their DEC reward will be based on a rating of 1,899 (the maximum rating for the Silver I league).

This change will go a long way to properly aligning incentives for players to increase their collection power and move up into higher leagues.

Please note that in the near future SPS rewards will also be added for ranked battle wins in addition to the current DEC rewards, and this change will apply to the calculation of SPS rewards as well."

  • Loot Chest Rewards for Bronze/Novice League

After the end of the current ranked play season on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, loot chests earned in Bronze league will give out Credits instead of DEC tokens, and will also have a lower chance of containing reward cards as compared to loot chests in Silver league and above.

The devs made a new percentage breakdown of receiving the different types of rewards based on league:

The sudden change made by devs on DEC to Credits was a preventive move for future restructuring and to give room for the DEC tokens to increase its value at external market. Plus the reduction rate on chance on acquiring a card was part of their updates. According to them, "new reward cards are being "farmed" by accounts with little to no in-game assets being held."

Also the Devs reminded everyone that Splinterlands was NOT a free-to-play game but play-to-earn game where in-game assets are scare and limited on quantity. Also, they quoted,
"The earning opportunities must be proportional to the amount of in-game assets acquired and held."

SEASON END REMINDER

  • The season end loot chest rewards are based on each player's league at the end of the season - NOT the highest league achieved during the season.
  • Ranked battles will not be able to started within 5 minutes of the season end.
  • The ranked season timer will also be updated to end 5 minutes before the season end
  • Ranked battles are expected to resume 15 minutes after the new season starts
My Opinion About the Updates

Im currently at Bronze League and my collection power is not that high to achieve Silver League and up. I grind a lot to earn DEC to buy cards for collection power, also to be able to rent cards for better chance of winning.
They say, "Steady and slowly wins the race." I'm beginning to collect cards for the purpose of power and to lessen my rental fee. Im not hating what the devs have done about the updates. The developers made a great move! though it may affect me in some aspect of my gameplay due to some changes. Still, I see this as fair update as a whole. The devs made an action to solve some issues especially on taking actions on bots.
There's more to come!
The Chaos Legion is coming and who knows what the devs have in mind.
Things may sail smooth and steady again, so let's keep our heads up.

Happy Grinding everyone!
