Equalizer Showdown: Battle Like a Pro with This Rule!

avatar

This battle turned out to be a magic damage smash fest. Keep pounding until only one team is left standing, but there is still some strategy to be used, read on to see what I mean.

This week's battle challenge is about the Equalizer Ruleset. It is a unique feature that alters gameplay dynamics. This rule ensures that all monsters begin the match with the same amount of health as the monster with the highest health value on either team. Here's an overview of how this rule functions:

  • Equalizer Ruleset:

    • At the start of the match, all monsters get fixed to have the same health as the monster with the highest health value across both teams.

    • This rule aims to create a level playing field by balancing out the health stats of all monsters.

    • It shifts the focus from pure stat advantages to strategic card usage and thoughtful gameplay.

So based on that you need to think more about the monster with the most attacks but with poor health stats like Doctor Blight and Magi of Chaos

Impact on Gameplay

The other rule set of Back to Basics plays a key part in this battle. so I needed to adapt my normal strategy as I would pick monsters with many abilities like Doctor Blight (but I still picked him). What I was planning for was to be able to have all my team take a shot in each round, so I didn't want any passengers. I figured my opponent would be doing the same.

This does need a more tactical way to play, so lots of healing and triage but all that went out of the window. You could also pick a gladiator. I do have a Quora and she would have fitted in well with this lineup. I did see a gladiator on the opponent team, but there is no bloodlust in this game.

It was about brute strength. Thanks to the void to all my team was very helpful in this match. The shatter was not so much also the minus one health didn't make much impact either.

Immortalis detested bureaucracy and the restrictions and regulations placed upon the guilds

Strategies for Success

Getting a good advantage from this rule set is knowing what monsters' abilities work together. For example, two triage monsters will heal each other. Use powerful magic monsters with magic reflect. Then add a monster with amplify to give more power to the reflect. The same works for thorns.

You need to stay flexible and know what abilities work together. Don't worry too much about health as we have a level playing field.

Remember not to pick a monster with high health, because you will give that advantage away to your opponent. Instead, let him pick the highest-health monster.

In essence, the Equalizer Ruleset sets a common health benchmark for all monsters. This makes you have to plan and adapt to this unique rule.

Happy Battling

Equaliser is the ruleset where I'm most keen to fill my entire lineup. An empty slot is potentially 12-15 health you're leaving on the table.

The opponent gave away the advantage by putting in an Iziar with 14 health, but the back-to-basics rule made it a bit lacklustre battle.
