How This Ani-Magic Team Defeated A Strong Melee Team

The choice of teams gets smaller, you can go with all Meele or Magic or a Combo of Both. The other rule was Target practice so I thought I would build an anti-magic team focused around the brilliant Prismatic Energy. I am getting magic reflect and void, plus the summoner de-buffs the other team with minus 1 magic to all monsters. Put him in as a sniper target and life is good.

However, a small fly in my ointment was that my opponent went full melee with extra armour. This is just like when I play chess and think that my opponent is going to do one thing, but I get blindsided when he does the complete opposite. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

This week's Battle Mage Secrets challenge is all about Broken Arrows means ranged attack units cannot be selected. On another note, I love it when I get soulbound cards to level them up to my league level. Recently I got another legendary Musa Saline enough to bring him to level 3, so I get scavenge, shatter and dispel, plus 4 speed all for 3 mana. One of those abilities has got to work out for me.

How Did the Battle Go

Being a lower mana battle you need to be careful about your team selection, I built this team around the 8 Mana Prismatic Energy, as well as a good 2 magic attack It gets 10 health and will snipe attack. Up front is the high speed high-health Kelp Initiate I would have expected at least one miss at 6 speed but hey, we have all been there, so don't get me started about RNG

Musa Saline - Fantastic Low Mana Power House

Even though my team was in the wrong configuration for this battle, a couple of things came to work out very well. First, Musa went in and took one health point but more importantly smashed 7 armour to bits, letting Tide Biter hit health for another 3 damage and nicely taking no thorns damage, this happened twice, enough to take down the very strong Djinn Chwala

A few early hits on cannon fodder monsters on both sides were good to feed the scavenge of Musa growing his health stats. So after the Djinn Chwala fell the rest of the opponent's team did not have the health to stay in the fight.

Musa Saline was the head of the army of Tsuna and fought against tyranny, despotism, and oppression.

Lessons to Take Away

Even though I picked a team to perform a specific task (Repel Magic Snipers) I had enough secondary abilities to see me through to a win, first never underestimate the value of high-health monsters, they will hold the line taking hits and giving your other monsters time to create havoc. My opponent did the same thing with the Djinn up front and if it wasn't for the shatter I think I would have lost this one.

Keep playing and level up those soul-bound cards, and never underestimate the value of the non-market sets like Soul-bound and Gladiators, they can turn a game.
