I walked Into His Trap And Came Out Smiling

When you see that you have stumbled into a trap, what do you do? Well in this battle that's exactly what happened. He saw me coming and loaded up on his defences and I had to work hard to survive. Let us examine what happened.

This week's battle challenge is about the earthquake rule set. So my first thoughts go straight to flying creatures. Then I go to dragons. and then I go to Magic Dragons. Pretty simple. But my opponent saw through that plan. and he put together a perfect (almost) anti-earthquake anti-magic team.

My team is very basic, with only 22 Mana to work with, so the choice is slim. I want speed high damage flying dragons. The summoner gives me access to dragons and a plus one to magic attack. Great so far. I want a high-health tank. tick. High-speed tick. Edging my bets I have a plus one speed to my team from Brownie and a one slow to his team and a plus one health for me from my Black Dragon. If you have been reading my battles you can see a theme happening here.

But the trap was set, and I came up against void armour and magic reflect boosted by amplify. Ouch. Not only that but the armour was getting repaired plus a resurrect was coming. This does not look good for me, all my attacks are going to come right back at me.

Battle Details

The first round goes with my high-speed attack taking his tank down with him not even having a turn. He ends up killing my token tank with thorns. only to see him resurrect and bring his tank right back with full armour. Nice. The earthquake removes some armour from his team. My backline chicken dies as expected.

Void dragon comes to the front and we start taking reflect damage from every hit. With void and phase he takes small hits from the magic reflect plus a lot of misses, this guy is very hard to hit. My other dragon has a life leach, that keeps him alive from the reflect damage. No abilities are here to help the Regal and he dies very fast.

In the final round, I would be dead easy. But the opponent's attacks miss my void dragon. Snatching a win from the jaws of defeat, as they say. He has enough firepower to drop the armour from Adelade Brightwing. The black dragon fires the final blow for the win.

Lessons to Take Away

Get a Void dragon, simple. They are low mana, and almost impossible to hit. Even when faced with an amplified magic reflection, he will win the battle for you. If there was no amplify then the reflection would have had no impact.

Currently, you can pick up 6 bcx for a level 3 void dragon for a total of 6,991.57 DEC. Or $6.72 at today's conversion rates. Worth it. I recommend adding one of the very hard-to-hit monsters to your collection, you won't regret it.
