One of the hardest rule sets to master
Dragons play well with magic
This week's Battle Mage Secrets is an interesting one, called Wands Out meaning only magic mages can be used. I know of some expert magic players. I am not one of them. However, I do have a few good mages in my collection.
The only common dragon summoner Delwyn Dragonscale So this is my choice in this battle for his plus-one magic attack. What else.
I previously wrote about the need for a good collection because of the multiple rules. This battle is no different as we can only pick monsters with an odd number of mana, then for a little spice we add Born again so monsters get another chance in the battle after they are killed.
The Rebirth Ability is the winner for me
Monster Choices
With a 32 Mana cap, it should be easy to fill all six slots of the team selection, but my opponent has left two slots empty. Perhaps a limited collection, see my point above.
As a matter of course for any battle, you should always try to fill ALL the slots. The rare occasion that I might not be when planning a resurrect strategy and planning on a certain monster getting the resurrection. This battle they all get it.
Sadly I don't have a magic monster with Martyr as this is the perfect time to play him. There is one called Iziar. It is a legendary soulbound card and only gets martyr at level three, which means you need to win 6 from reward chests. It's going to take me a long time to get one.
If you do have one I envy you. Tell me when you got it and how many you have, Just curious.
This is Divine Sorceress Her divine shield is a superpower
Battle Plan
Simple really,
I picked my highest damage level monsters and then added one more attack from the summoner, so one-shot kills are what I want, the only trouble with that plan is the high hitters are also glass cannons which means they will die fast.
So hide them at the back. That's why the temple priest is second last.
The best thing in this battle was the divine shield ability that the divine sorceress has, so I put her upfront, this means she can take an extra hit and then get healed, and when resurrected the divine shield is there again giving my team another free hit. All the while my back line is dealing lots of damage as the rounds move through.
Remember that if you find a particular battle plan that you like to play and get good results from make sure that you level up your monsters to the max level of the division that you playing in, so if you are in gold get your common cards to level eight. Should be the best bang for the buck upgrades that you can do as common cards are always cheaper than the big-hitting legendaries.

RULESET: Wands Out
Description:
Only units with magic attacks may be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.
Learning
The Divines Shield won this battle for me without losing a single monster.
Instead of losing a powerful three-magic attack, I get to take a shot after the divine shield does its work. There is a reason that the Lorna Shine summoner is still holding s good price, it's the perfect summoner for low mana matches as well as magic-only matches.
Remember to try and fill all six battle slots with monsters. I would even say leave out your high mana heavy hitters in favour of a lower mana test with all slots filled. I know there is always a special case, this is a general recommendation.
