Resurrection Revenge When Your Tank Refuses to Stay Dead

G'day from the Drop Bears guild, yeah, that's right, I'm rolling with one of the top Aussie crews of Splinterlands degens. We're out here grinding battles, stacking wins, and occasionally witnessing some absolutely nuts moments that make this game worth every mana point.
Speaking of nuts moments, let me tell you about this speed battle that had me literally laughing at my screen. You know that feeling when your tank is dodging attacks like he's in the Matrix? Well, imagine that, but then he gets absolutely wrecked right at the end. Devastating, right? WRONG. Because this madlad resurrects and delivers the final killer blow like some kind of undead action hero. Talk about poetic justice.
Battle Breakdown: 43 Mana Counterspell Chaos

The ruleset for this one was pretty straightforward 43 mana cap with Counterspell active. For those who need a refresher, Counterspell means magic attacks get reflected back. Not the most exciting ruleset, but it definitely shaped my lineup decisions.
My Death Splinter Squad:
Summoner – Astral Entity: This bad boy brings the pain with a -2 armor debuff to the enemy team, plus dodge and resurrect. The armor shred is clutch for getting through tanky lineups, and that resurrect ability? Well, you'll see why that mattered in a second.
Tank Position – Nightmare: My frontline monster packing Blast and Phase. Blast lets him deal splash damage to adjacent enemies, while Phase gives him that sweet magic attacks have a chance to miss. Perfect for a speed battle where you need to stay alive and fast.
Second Spot – Arachne Thug: Sitting right behind the tank with Reach and Trample. Reach lets him attack from the second position, and Trample means when he kills something, he keeps swinging at the next target. This guy is all about maintaining pressure and racking up kills.
Third Spot – Supply Runner: This support legend brings Swiftness (speed buff to the whole team) and Strengthen (health buff). In speed battles, that extra speed can mean the difference between landing the first hit or eating dirt. The health boost doesn't hurt either.
Fourth Position – Liza Fox (Gladiator): Here's where things get spicy. This gladiator brings Silence (reduces enemy magic attack), Stun, and Bloodlust. Every kill makes her stronger, faster, and meaner. She's basically a snowball waiting to happen.
Last Position – Lira the Dark: Rounding out the squad with Swiftness, Snare, and Opportunity (targets the lowest health enemy). She's my cleanup crew, picking off weakened targets.
The Battle: A Comedy of Misses and Miracles
The match started exactly how I wanted, my speed buffs kicked in, and my tank was dodging attacks like he had precognition or something. Miss after miss. The enemy team was basically swinging at air while my backline chipped away at their health pools.
Then it happened.
Right near the end of the battle, after dodging what felt like a dozen attacks, Nightmare finally gets caught. One solid hit and he's down. I'm thinking, "Well, that's annoying but we've got this."
But here's where Astral Entity's resurrect ability becomes the MVP of the entire match. Nightmare pops back up like nothing happened, and in what can only be described as an act of pure revenge, he immediately blasts the enemy for the final killer blow.
I'm not gonna lie. I actually said "YES!" out loud. It was that satisfying. Your tank gets killed, resurrects, and then personally delivers the finishing blow? That's the kind of RNG-blessed moment that makes you feel like the crypto gaming gods are smiling down on you.
Check out the full battle replay here – seriously, you need to see this resurrection revenge play out in real-time. It's chef's kiss levels of satisfying.
Final Thoughts
This battle perfectly showcases why I love Death Splinter in speed rulesets. The combination of dodge mechanics, resurrect, and high-damage dealers creates these insane clutch moments that you just don't get with other splinters.
Was it strategic brilliance? Maybe. Was it also lucky as hell? Absolutely. But that's Splinterlands, baby, where your carefully planned lineup meets chaotic RNG and sometimes produces pure magic.

Peace,
Your squad breakdown was brilliant, especially highlighting Liza Fox as a potential snowball.
In a Counterspell ruleset, was there a moment you worried the reflected magic would backfire?
Thanks mate, the snowball wasn't there this time, but it was all about the nightmare
Thanks
Have a great day
