Silver 3 is The New Bronze

Silver 3 is the New Bronze.jpg

Hi again! Today I'm just sharing rant/opinion post. So after the new rewards changes, a lot of people have been complaining about how it affects new players and it might discourage them from joining in.

Personally, I think that this change is good overall, and I am completely supportive of the rewards changes. I understand that the developers would have a much harder time running anti-bot systems in place (imagine trying to prove you're a human for every battle), which is why they limited the rewards for 0 collection power accounts.

With the new changes, my two alt accounts that were sitting in Bronze were earning way much more DEC in Bronze 1 than last season, but I think the main downside is the reduced chance of getting the new reward cards. Also, the DEC rewards are now capped at the maximum rating at Bronze 1, which is DEC price will relatively stay volatile in nature, but cards will be a lot more profitable in my opinion in the long term (plus it gives you more CP and more chances to minimize what you need to rent).

So I bit the bullet and rented enough CP to get to silver 3. The base rank was high enough for Bronze 1 (5k power) with whatever rewards cards the accounts won stay with them (yes, I won some legendaries in Bronze before the reward nerf).

Here's my comparison so far:

Bronze 1Silver 3
DEC Rewards per win3 - 48 - 10

Conclusion

If you're in this game for the long run, I think you're much better off renting to Silver 3 and learning more about this game. If you feel like you won't be able to keep your rating high enough to stay in Silver 3, there are a lot of people (and strategy guides) out there to help you out.

Feel free to check out my other post about what to rent for the Fire Splinter in Silver, to get a good idea of the new abilities. I'll write a bit more "how to beat meta on a budget" strategy guide for the other splinters in Silver league, just to really help the community learn and grow.

I'd want to really play in Champion League, but unfortunately, my budget isn't very Champion-league friendly. Some people complain that the game is becoming more Pay-to-win than Play-to-Earn but I wholeheartedly disagree. While yes, you do get a huge advantage if you have enough budget to rent out the meta cards, but I think that a budget challenge gets your creativity going in renting out the anti-meta deck.

I play my main account in Gold and the level of strategy/depth that the game dives into is ridiculous, so I'd like to think I have a fair bit of knowledge to help out. I'm always willing to learn new things though, so please drop your favorite budget strategies in the comments.

I sincerely hope this helps you enjoy the game more and appreciate its depth and strategy. :)

Good luck, and may your rewards chests always contain gold foil legendaries.
