Rental market volatility

Hi, so this is my second ever post, hope you enjoy reading this and do drop a like if you want to see more content like this!

With the start of a new season, the rental markets tank once again. Although splinterlands has tried to fix the issue of EOS rental volatility by changing the earned season chests to the highest league achieved in the past season, there is still the issue of season reset rating, which if insufficient power is held in the account during EOS the account will get sent to a far lower league and would have to spend much more time pushing back up to the rating that their league chests are in. As it takes exponentially more rshares in higher leagues, this effort can often go unrewarded for the player, both in DEC and reward chests. I definitely do think that Splinterlands can further improve how the rating reset is done as to not put pressure on the EOS rentals like they said they would try to do.

But for the renters, the last few days of a season is what we live for. My rentals went from 2000DEC a day at the start of the season to almost 24000DEC a day for the last 3-4 days of last season. This is amazing, as my yROA during that time has skyrocketed to almost 130%, even if its just for a few days. Right now, about 24 hours after the EOS, my rental revenue has crashed by half to only 12000DEC, but the worst is still yet to come.

As can be seen above I have yet to update my rentals as currently the Splinterrents Bot is down due to splinterlands temporarily disabling rent price changes with 1 txn. Im expecting to get around 4-5k DEC a day for the next coming days, but we will see.

I plan to start doing daily updates on my rentals now for all of you to keep track of my rentals and yROA from ow on. For reference I have bought about 1179CL packs and about 500$ of cards. The DEC I bought for the packs was varied and all over the place but the ballpark amount i spent for the DEC to buy packs should be around 3000$. This puts my initial investment at 3500$. Not counting the reward cards I have placed on other accounts for renting. Currently I rent the RC required for putting the cards out for rent from DLease, but I hope to get into a longer term contract with someone if possible.
