So much Happening right now! What should I do?!?
The Hive ecosystem is going bonkers! We've got airdrops and IDO's and NFT's and new card decks and commerce sites and diesel pools and new games coming out and current games expanding, and, and, and....
The number of opportunities available and the amount of information to process have never been greater. The price of #HIVE, while pulling back to around $2, is still up around 300% from a couple months ago. The energy and excitement being generated by the community, along with the development behind the scenes, have never been at a higher level. There are great things to come over the next 12 months, from multiple sources at multiple levels. It's pretty nuts.
So while all of this is happening, it can sometimes be overwhelming. Which project should I invest in? How do I get involved with this, that, and the other thing? Where should I focus my energies? There are just so many things happening at once!
I'll tell you the one thing I've learned over the past four years of being in crypto that has served me better than anything else. It has helped me continue to grow my bags regardless of what's happening around me, and it continues to be my number one focus, especially when things get as crazy as they are right now.
Curate.
Read, vote, and comment. Curate. Out of everything going on right now, THAT is the one thing you can control. When you read, you learn. When you learn, you can comment. When you comment you can build up awareness of who you are and what you have to offer the community. When you curate, you get paid.
That's the greatest thing about HIVE (and LEO and ONEUP and Splintertalk and ProofofBrain and, and, and...), when you invest your time and a little bit of brainpower, you get paid. Half of the value of your votes comes back to you. And if you add value to people's posts and comments, they'll give you votes and you'll get half of that as well.
Even if you never post your own articles, you can still be a very valuable member of many of these communities and you will get paid for your work. Go on Discord channels and chat with some of the active members in these communities. It won't be long until you figure out who they are and they start recognizing you. From there it's just a matter of finding their posts, commenting, and voting. Stay consistent and put some thought into your engagement and you will be rewarded. It's that simple.
Right now I want to increase my #Hive stake because 1) I think it's going higher, and 2) there are airdrops coming. I want to increase my #LEO stake because 1) I think it's going higher, and 2) there are airdrops coming. I want to increase my stake in #BXT because it pays passive income and #BeeSwap is a great platform. I want to increase my #ONEUP stake because it's a brand new community set to take full advantage of the rise of #Play2Earn. I want to increase my #SPS because 1) I think it's going higher, and 2) there are airdrops coming. I want to buy more #LVL tokens because I think #PsyberX has a great chance to be the next huge game on HIVE. I want to buy more #Splinterlands Chaos Legion packs. I want to increase my stake in #CUB because 1) I think it's going higher, and 2) you guessed it, there are airdrops coming. I'll quit here but believe me, there are 10 more things I want to do.
So what am I doing right now? This. I'm posting an article or two, but mainly I'm keeping my head down and reading, voting, and commenting. Curating.
It's the one way to guarantee success on HIVE and I can 100% control it. Some days are better than others for receiving votes, but every day is the same for me commenting and voting on others. Thus, every day my bags get a little bit bigger.
Do yourself a favor and get in the habit of at least taking your voting power down to 80% every day. It is literally costing you money if you don't. And remember, a couple of $2 HIVE tokens earned here could be worth $100 or more some day. A dozen 30 cent LEO tokens earned down here could be worth over $100 or more some day. 100 ONEUP tokens earned down here, could be worth over $100 some day. Do you see the trend?
When in doubt, curate. Read, comment, vote. It's that simple. That's what I'll be doing. I'll probably see you around the #Hive....

It really is. If you just stay consistent, anyone can build a very nice stack in any of these tokens. It's certainly no get-rich-quick program. But is guaranteed to work. All you have to do is put in the effort.
That was always my approach. Simply put my head down and keep grinding away. No need to stop or let up. That is now how we get ahead.
This is a game of consistency which leads to compounding. As you spelled out, we can compound our returns by curating, staking, and then curating more with larger vote value.

It's a great system. The more you work, the more you earn. The more you earn, the bigger the rewards. It incentivizes consistency and work ethic. It can be a little slow getting started if you're coming from nothing, but even starting at 0 you can build very nice bags by just being consistent. If you work, the rewards will come. Period.

This is awesome advice and a great reminder to every looking to build up their earnings on HIVE. In 2 months, I've gone from having a vote value of 0 to 0.009 xD One day I hope that my vote value reaches 1 HIVE!
If you keep working at it, it will happen sooner than you think. It's amazing how fast things can start adding up once you get in the habit of doing it every day. You don't even have to spend a ton of time at it. I've got another post from a while back talking about defining your "worst day on Leo/Hive". Even if you don't feel like writing anything, just get yourself to read a couple articles and at least vote. That way you'll still be moving in the right direction.
Let's go back to this message 2 years from now when HIVE is around 10 USD. I'll be all glad we kept doing a little a bit every day!
It's one of the best thing about HIVE. We can earn and build our position just by being active and high/low prices shouldn't change that.

Yup. Price doesn't matter. In fact, it's almost better when the prices are down so you can build more rewards and benefit even more greatly when the price finally does rise.
