Splinterlands Stats | Transactions, Games, Players and Price | Apr 2026

How is Splinterlands doing these days?
There are constant updates in the game, new modules, gameplay changes etc. The game is still ticking along but not exactly thriving.
Let’s take a look at the numbers!

The following topics will be covered:

  • Number of transactions
  • Number of games played
  • Number of active daily players
  • New accounts created by Splinterlands
  • SPS price

The data has been queried from the Splinterlands API in combination with the data from the Hive blockchain.

Number of Transactions

Transactions represent the overall activity in the game. Here is the chart.

image001.png

Prior to July 2021, the overall data for Splinterlands was low. Then an explosion in the summer of 2021, the number of transactions went up to 5M a day, from the previous 100k daily.
The transactions stayed in the range of 3M to 5M during 2022 as well, but then in 2023 dropped by a lot, to around 800k per day, stayed there for a few months and a further drop in 2024 to around 100k per day.
It should be noted that transactions were intentionally scaled back with the introduction of anti bot measures in multiple steps.

When we zoom in the last years, we get this:

image003.png

Here we can notice more constant numbers in the last years. The transactions have been in the range of 50k to 100k in the whole period, with occasional spikes. In the last period they are close to 50k per day.

Number of Battles Played

Here is the chart of the daily numbers of games played for the period.

image007.png

This is the period for the last two years.
We can notice a very constant number in the period with around 60k battles per day, with occasional spikes.

In the prior period before 2024 the number of battles has a similar trend with an explosion in 2021 and then a drop in 2022 and 2023.

Number of Active Players

This is one of the most important metrics for every dApp, how many active users have there are. Here is a data for daily active users [DAU].

image011.png

This is a chart for 2024-2026 only.

In the previous period the trend is similar as for the transactions chart.
Here we can notice a steady trend with a small drop in February 2025 from around 7k to bellow 5k.
In the last period the number of DAUs is steady around the 4k mark.

New Accounts Created by Splinterlands

Here are the new Hive accounts created by Splinterlands on a monthly basis.

image015.png

We can see quite a low numbers for new accounts in 2024, with numbers between 50 to 100 new accounts. As a new account here is counted an account that has purchased a Spellbook.
There was a short spike in August 2025 with more than 500 new players. A drop since then bellow 100 in the last month.

SPS Price

At the end the price for the main token SPS.

image017.png

The market has been brutal towards SPS. The token was launched in August 2021 and was trading more than 0.5$ for a short period of time. It dropped massively in 2022 from 0.2 all the way to 0.02 where it finished the year.
Since then, we can see the token trading sub 1 cent, and it is now around 0.005.

All the best

Thanks for the post! It's good to get a sense of how Splinterlands is doing. It looks like we're going through a pretty tough phase. It seems it won't be long before they announce the end of an era.

Not so sure about that, Splinterlands has a very strong core set of players with deep pockets...

Nice stats, now I understand better what happening in Hive gaming. Game still active but some numbers little down. Why token price going down, less players or just market condition?

Token price is going down because the number of players and SPS holders is slowly trending down, while SPS token emissions continue...

Great stats and the picture they paint unfortunately lines up perfectly with what I know about the state of the game.

Brutal bear market in altcoins is not helping either...
