BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! / Counterspell.

In this season it was quite difficult to get the Counterspell condition, in this battle I faced @trump142 in the silver league, the maximum mana of this battle was 28, normally when we encounter the Counterspell condition, the player tends to avoid using magic cards, since every attack is returned.

But it is also possible to use magic cards and avoid that the attacks affect the card that generated the attack, for example if we use the summoner Immortalis, if our card has a magic attack of a value of 2, then the return will be an attack of 1, but when the summoner's ability is activated, i.e. the void ability, the attack will not generate any effect on our monsters, this is a way to use magic cards and avoid or reduce the damage.

Battle strategy.

As I mentioned the ideal is to use non-magical cards, but I usually do the opposite, that is, I prefer to use the summoner Immortalis with the void ability, although in this case I use my water element cards, it is worth mentioning that this strategy does not always work, but I really like to use it, so to avoid damage I used a card with the void ability, as Djinn Oshannus, while behind this I used Phantom of The Abyss, this would serve to dodge the ranged attacks, while Merdaali Guardian will be in charge of healing damage and also Spirit Hoarder will fulfill the same function, The other cards (Hardy Stonefish, Torrent Fiend) are fillers, as I knew they could be destroyed quickly, the summoner I used was Bortus, this would allow me to reduce the magic attacks, in case my opponent would use any magic card, actually its function would not be so important, but it would serve as an insurance to avoid more damage to my cards.

Bortus, Hardy Stonefish, Djjin Oshannus, Spirit Hoarder, Phantom of the Abyss, Merdali Guardian. Torrent Fiend.

Especially I used the summoner Bortus in the golden version of level 2, Hardy Stonefish in level 1, plus 4 legendary cards (Djjin Oshannus, Spirit Hoarder, Phantom of the Abyss, Torrent Fiend), also Merdaali Guardian in the golden version level 2.

While my opponent I use: General Sloan, ShieldBearer, Creeping Ooze, Venari Crystalsmith, Truthspeaker, Pelacor Arbalest, Xenith Archer.

  • Round 1,2 : In the early stages, only Hardy Stonefish was destroyed and there was also a life reduction on the remaining cards.
  • Round 3,4 : The following rounds were desicive, on my side of the field, Djjin Oshannus and Spirit Hoarder were defeated. On my opponent's side Shield Bearer, Creping Ooze, Venari Crystalsmith and Trushspeaker were destroyed.
  • Round 5,6,7 : In the last rounds, everything was easier and I could easily finish Pelacor Arbalest and Xenith Archer.

Conclusion.

In these battles the most usual is to use non-magic cards, but I also wanted to demonstrate that there are several strategies to continue using magic cards and evade damage, for example: with monsters or summoners with the void ability, as we saw in the battle the strategy gave me the victory; the healing cards also fulfilled their function, so this strategy achieved its objective.
