Battle Mage Secrets - Melee Mayhem

WEEKLY CHAL..jpg

It's another week passed and so I am again sharing a new understanding about this week's Battle Mage Secrets splinter-fam. This should be my entry for this week's Battle Mage Secrets - Melee Mayhem.

Melee Mayhem - Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

This ruleset is one of my favorite ones, even though I'm not winning that much with the current setup of the splinterlands game, I still find it enjoyable and entertaining. The thing to consider when you are battling with this ruleset is how to counter the incoming melee attacks. For example, Thorns have the ability to return the damage to the attacker. The Shield is another ability that can minimize the damage of an attack from a melee monster. Demoralize - is another skill that can have a negative impact on the melee-attacking team and Inspire is adding melee damage to your melee team. These are abilities that can boost your winning percentage in the Melee Mayhem ruleset that I can think of. But there are other factors of course to beat your opponent. The Melee Mayhem ruleset does not limit the battle to melee monsters only so there are still Magic and Range attacks to consider.

  • Let's see a sample for this weekly battle challenge.

The ruleset is:

Melee Mayhem with 19 Mana Capacity. And I am choosing Earth Splinter for this battle.

  • With my explanation above, I am sticking with my idea of how to play the Melee Mayhem ruleset. Choosing the earth splinter as my team, I am able to use the Thorns ability that Mylor Crowling possesses. Mycelic Infantry got the Shield ability. And the Demoralized that the Disintegrator has. To complete my team, I used Fungus Fiend which got 0 mana capacity, and Mycelic Morphoid to fill the missing 1 mana on my team. Both of these cards are Melee attacking monsters.

  • The Battle

Whoopsie Daisy, I see a monkey! If this Lobb Lowland is used as a summoner, there is a high probability that Quora is its monster. And of course, there it is. It's even a gold foil. Let us see the opponent team members. Lobb Lowland as a summoner, in its 1st position, Fungus Flinger was placed so it will boost Quora Towershead which was placed in 2nd position. Fungus Flinger has the Martyr ability so its function for this battle is to be eliminated as fast as possible. And to complete the opponents' roster is the Fungus Fiend. Added to my disadvantage is that the opponents team got a higher level cards compare to mind.

Round 2
bp2.png
2nd round of the battle, my team kicked out the opponent's cards aside from Quora. But the sad part was, Fungus Flinger's elimination boosted Quora's already insane attribute.

Round 3
bp3.png
Round 3, is the round that a dominating card Quora activated bloodlust is showing its battle prowess. My tank was eliminated in this round and that activated Quora's bloodlust.

Round 4

And I lost. A 2x Blood-lusted Quora dominated the fight in an instant. This card is really a win-grabber. And that's it for me now.
