The Kraken | SPT W-377 | Splinterlands Art Contest, Digital Art
Hello, how are you all, my Hive friends?
I hope you're all doing well and are always blessed in life π
And Happy New Year 2026, may your wishes that didn't come true in 2025 come true in 2026 ππππππ
This is my 153rd post since I entered the weekly art contest held by @Splinterlands.
Here I drawing The Kraken from the Splinterlands character card, The Kraken.

I drawing this character because I'm into drawing water monsters, and the name The Kraken is quite unique, as Krakens are usually depicted as giant, ferocious octopuses that terrorize sailors in the ocean with their ferocious waves.
But the Kraken has a skull-like face like an alien, with a body with many tentacles at the tail, and fins like a fish, but split and tentacled.
So, this character seems even more terrifying if it actually existed in the ocean. Perhaps a kraken, a megalodon, or a sea dinosaur would be its only prey.
And as usual, I really enjoyed drawing in this contest.
And I'm very happy to be able to participate and draw Splinterlands characters to practice my illustration skills.
Overall, making Splinterlands fanart is always fun, because there are so many characters to create fanart for.
For the coloring, I used an American comic strip style.
This time, I didn't have a goal in mind, because just participating in the @splinterlands character drawing competition is already very cool in my opinion.
And congratulations to the top 3 winners and the other winners π₯°ππΊππππ₯³
Thanks also to my friends in the Hive community, curators, and other artists who always support my work.
I created this piece in 5 hours, with 2 hours for line sketching and 3 hours for coloring and finishing.

Thank you and Happy New Yearπ
Your level lowered and you are now a Red Fish!
Any update on why splinterlands stopped posting art contest blogs?
I don't know bro, they haven't held this contest for a few weeks, maybe because the price of hive is so low that it makes them reluctant to invest in this contest anymore
Not sure about the price of hive is the reason or the lack of activity. They always adjusted the votes based on that. Too bad it ended. It was a good start to someone who is starting as an artist in here.
Maybe they think that this art contest event after so long has not made the name of this game very popular with players not increasing significantly, so they switched to other, more effective promotional media.
Hm yeah you are probably right.
Yes, because I see that only us and a few other artists participated in this contest, and there weren't any significant additions to the competition. The crypto community also doesn't talk much about this game, as evidenced by the rare YouTube videos discussing it. And it all started with Hive, a less popular cryptocurrency in both the market and the crypto community as a whole. Perhaps if this game were available on a popular network like Solana or BNB, things would be different.
I wonder what they are planning now. I noticed that most of the artists in here are inactive now. Holozing community activity is also low. The price of hive is probably the reason. I know a lot of them were paying their bills with blogging money. If price improves maybe they'll come back and the contest resumes eventually!
Yes, the artists are rarely active, maybe because the hive price is low, so they feel lazy to post. Because the effort they put in spending time making works does not match the voting value they get. Maybe you can ask castleberry, he knows the internal of splinterlands. I also haven't posted on Holozing for a long time ha..ha.ha.. The weather in my country is chaotic. It often rains from morning to night and I work by motorbike, it really makes my body condition drop and after work I am lazy to sit in front of the computer again to post works on Hive
Maybe I'll ask him. I can totally relate to not getting things under when it's raining heavily. I don't like rain that much. You know usually hive climbs back to 25 cents even when it reaches below that compared to previous years. Not sure what's going on now. I hope the whales didn't lose confidence in hive.
Yes, there's probably a definite answer after you ask, friend. Yes, rain puts a huge strain on your body temperature, making coughs and colds more likely. There aren't many activities I can do when it's raining. Yes, I actually hope the price of hive can return to its peak of around $2.50, haha.
