Mar. 10, 22: Routine, Errands, Oculus, Walking, Crashing, TV, and Games

Slept nine to four tonight for another good hour and a half short on sleep. 😭 Between that and trying and failing to figure out how to fix the website issue, my motivation was null and despite trying to fight it (to the point of going for a walk), I ended up crashing hard.

Same ol’ on the morning routine. Losing more money on Polygon, what’s new? Up to .8 ETH more now I would have had had I simply done nothing. 🤬 Cryptos were red by a couple percent pretty much across the board, but I was surprised to see HIVE holding up…figure it’s probably just lagging, though, and we’ll see it go back to its old peg at $.8 again. I think, on balance, I’m still ahead with my HIVE investment, though, so not too worried about that right now.

Cleaned up a bit in the kitchen, hit the faucets and all that jazz, worked on my post for the day and actually ended up doing a fairly decent one even though I totally didn’t feel like it, and then took the doggy for a ride into town to run my errands to the puffity-puff store. (Still smoked more than I’d hoped again today).

Got back, had some lunch, and saw the wall coming at me at a thousand miles an hour…I tried to fight it first by occupying my mind with Puzzling Places (finished the one I was working on and started a new one), and then by getting the blood and sweat flowing with some Beat Saber. That ate up a little time, but when I quit I still had the whole afternoon ahead of me and no desire to do anything, not even play now that that thirst had been slaked.

Decided that maybe some fresh air, sunshine, and exercise might help, and the weather wasn’t too bad, so I went out for a modest walk. I was going to take the dog with me, but when I called him he didn’t move at all, so I figured he was asleep.

Clear blue skies for the most part, and not incredibly cold, but the wind was a little nasty; kept having to take my gloves 🧤 on and off.

It did feel good to get back out…also means that I’ve been out a couple times and my exercise frequency is moving in the right direction! 😁

Did the loop down past the pond. Didn’t see any wildlife, but the water was super high!

When I got back I still had about an hour or so before Wenche got home and I’d run out of methods to fight. I put on a random show, started obsessing about the website (not making any progress), and soon passed out. Seems like no matter what I think to try there’s some block…need to be in JavaScript to encrypt the string, but need to be in PHP to save it to the database and can’t pass it through the browser…one way or another there’s a clash in languages and I get stuck. I did finally find the encode function in the Hive code…I have a vague idea of what it’s doing, but not able to replicate it in PHP (at least not yet). Not even sure if that’s worth the effort…still going to need the JavaScript on the server side to listen for chain transactions and I have the same problem all over again. 😡😡🤬🤬😡😭🤬

I woke up when Wenche came home, and tried to get up, but fell right back to sleep again and didn’t wake up until she had already made us turkey taco salad for dinner.

Had a huge plate of that, played my Splinterlands quest for the day, and watched a new show: Medical Police, which is pretty funny. 😍 I had my steps done already, so once I finished Splinterlands I basically went right back to bed.

Not too much interesting going on with Rising Star today. I can’t seem to shake these drunks; one expires and I’ve already got more. So I don’t really have a clue what my Ego actually is at the moment. Just been taking the income penalty and pounding missions anyway.

Went in to HashKings on the desktop today (because the mobile version really doesn’t work) and went in and bought another joint for my avatar. I also used some of my BUDS to craft a pinnet and smoked it up. Brings me to level four already…not bad for a start, I suppose. Still considering trying to grab another plot or two since once a week harvest is kind of boring and lame. First time for everything, though.

Two more days left until my first harvest! Figured at this rate, back of the napkin calculation, it’ll take me about 100 weeks (just shy of two years) to break even on my initial investment…have to remind myself, I still do have the majority of the value in the assets (plot and MOTA), they’re just locked up at the moment, so it is a bit unfair to count that against my future profitability…🤔

As usual, I played my obligatory Splinterlands quest in the evening…speaking of obligatory, I wasn’t excluded from the brawl this time, so I put in my battles for that as well.

I got Death splinter again for my quest today, but switched and got Sneak quest instead, which helps with the flexibility of splinters. Was able to make a little progress and finished it up in Diamond III…still holding out a bit of hope for Diamond II this season. The rewards were a serious joke today, though:

Otherwise, no moves today with my vouchers, still sitting there waiting for a demand for them. Staked my SPS drop for the day and was at least slightly higher than yesterday, but still not back to where it was even a couple days ago. I started off with well over two hundred a day, but I’m less than half that now. 😢 I suppose I did spend some out buying $500 worth of packs in the first phase (not to mention the gains from voucher sales into pools).
