Mar. 14, 22: Routine, Teaching, TV, and Games

Got to bed quite a bit later than usual last night, round about ten, but still up at five for yet another solid two hours short on sleep. Had stuff to do today, though, back to school! So, no rest for the wicked.

I had a pretty solid idea of my plan for teaching today since I’d taken the time last night to think it through, so pretty much just did the usual morning routine.

Cryptos are still languishing in a sideways consolidation phase…slow and boring and frustrating. I need MATIC and BAL to recover against ETH so I can at least pull out and take my losses (but not as hard as this)!

Got my post done and ready to go. I got skipped yesterday because of the time change, so I was free to post whenever this morning. Got it in a couple minutes before ten so I could pump my gas and get on with the day.

Otherwise, made lunch, folded up the clean laundry from yesterday, got everything together and ready for work, took a shower, and then headed out a few minutes early to grab some gas. ⛽️ It hurt, of course, but I’m not going to do the typical American thing and complain about it or blame the President…they’re trying to take off the state gas tax, so we’ll see what happens with that. Even though there’s more potholes than road, they seem to say they’re swimming in a budget surplus?!

Made it in with plenty of time to spare and got set up this time before class started. For Algebra today we shifted gears from algebraic to transcendental functions and started looking at exponential functions and their properties. Did well, and I resisted the temptation to talk too much about logarithms (which is hard when talking about exponentials) and we got out a few minutes early.

I went out to the car for lunch and didn’t even try to fight with the WiFi signal, just went out and drove to the open parking lot on the other side of campus where I got a decent signal for once. Got caught up with pings and watched a bit of YouTube to kill time and then went back in for Calculus class.

I’d promised that we’d take a class and just practice our derivative skills and not cover any new material. Even though it was like the perfect opportunity to shift gears and start talking about the integral, today I kept my promise and we practiced product rule, quotient rule, chain rule, finding the equation of a tangent line, first and second derivative tests, related rates, and optimization. I did do a little off-topic jibber-jabber about the speed of light and reality being required to be consistent, not true, but otherwise we just worked right up until the bell! 🤓

Besides dodging the potholes, the drive home went fine and I got back right around five. Wenche was home already (she’d gone in early this morning) and was making us pancakes for dinner when I walked in the door. 😁

Had dinner, tried briefly to play Splinterlands and gave up, and watched Good Girls until bedtime. It’s very much like Weeds or Breaking Bad or Orange is the New Black, but it’s quite fun and worth the binge.

Ok, then, I guess the new normal for dShitty is four rather than three. A giant leap in the right direction, I must say. 😛 How does this even exist anymore, does anyone actually enjoy it other than like the President and a couple other people?

Just the usual on Rising Star today, pounding out missions trying to slog through levels. I did win a card from Pizza 🍕, and I can see the ID number in the transaction, but other than that I have no idea what card it was nor do I think there’s a way to find out…could maybe dig through NFTMart or something, but whatever.

I did my first harvest on HashKings yesterday, but since nothing functions properly on the mobile version, I would have had to log in with the computer to forge joints and I didn’t have the time or inclination really.

The seed drop from staking MOTA was supposed to happen on Sunday, but it got delayed…all day today as well, but they did finally come through [this morning - Tuesday].

Got another seed planted and watered and now, again, we play the waiting game. Five more days to go:

Still considering getting another plot to get this moving a bit more, but I’m already trying to make back what I spent and I don’t currently have the liquid…need vouchers to go back up.

Well, it was just too tempting…I was sooo close to Diamond I I could taste it. So, even though I knew better, I tried to play today.

Didn’t take long for the complete and utter bullshit to make me quit. Pitting me against people a thousand above me and people with fucking ten million deck power…I knew it would suck donkey dick, and it did.

No rewards today, just waiting out the season. At least I got to Diamond II again this time, but it’s a double-edge sword. I don’t get reset back so far, but then the enemies I face at the beginning are OP again and it’s not worth wasting life watching losing matches and I’ll likely lose a day’s quest.

No moves with vouchers still and just staked my SPS drop, which continues to decay by the day despite my best efforts to keep it level. 😡

Got my stats for the last week today. Have to say that I was honestly surprised by all the red arrows. I thought with having gone for a couple proper walks (even with the broken streak day) it would have been better than the week before. 😢 At least my sleep has gone up a little, but still an hour short on average.
