Mar. 16, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Teaching, Web Research, TV, and Games

[Holy crap! It’s almost nine o’clock already and I’m only just starting…been chatting and helping people over in Pizza Discord and lost track of time. 😱 Not to mention it’s Thursday and I have errands to run…]

Got to bed pretty late last night, around ten or so, and slept until just shy of six; so, officially, about three quarters of an hour short. Didn’t feel too tired, though, and even did some extra web work after teaching all day.

Just about the same old story as far as the morning routine goes. Did all the usual stuff, cryptos maybe starting to look a little better, but not by much (and still losing even harder against ETH), and worked on my post before I needed to start getting ready to go.

Made my lunch, got a shower, solidified my plans, and then went to head out, but I didn’t want to leave without letting the dog out first and he didn’t want to go. Once I finally did get him to go out, then he wanted to sniff around and bark before doing his business, so I ended up posting still at home.

Jumped in the car a few minutes late and jumped into the weekly PIMP meeting on Discord for the drive in. Besides dodging the potholes, the drive went smoothly and I was there with plenty of time.

Hear more from THGaming, and I’m digging the vibe. They jacked the pool rewards to nearly 300% now and seems like they’re looking at all kinds of projects and networking all over the place. Such a dilemma, though, between curation and the pool…but at 300% I’m leaving it alone. I’m bullish on it and PIMP as well. The project keeps growing and compounding investments and seems to be right on track! 💪

In Algebra today we looked at Logarithmic functions, their properties, graphs, how to simplify, and then we practiced how to use them to solve exponential equations as well as using exponentials to solve log equations. We got out a few minutes early, but it kind of seemed like the students were petering out on doing examples, so I called it.

Headed out to the car for lunch and just drove out to the other parking lot immediately rather than even trying to fight with the signal. It actually wasn’t too bad today and I watched some YouTube killing time.

Went back in for Calculus and I introduced them to the Indefinite and Definite Integral (more or less properly) for the first time. The indefinite is really quite easy and we covered all the basic rules in no time flat; since they know the derivative rules quite well, it’s just a matter of doing them backwards. 🤓

I introduced them to the definite integral as well and we talked about a few of the basic rules (like how you can split integral up and pull out constants) and I showed them how we actually evaluate them using the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. I also gave them the raw, formal definition of the definite integral, but by then I’m sure most of it was a whirlwind and I was only foreshadowing. We’ll spend a lot more time going through what I showed them in greater detail.

We let out a bit early, but students stayed after to ask questions, so I stuck around for a while. The drive home was easy (besides potholes, of course) and I was just getting out of the car when Wenche pulled in as well.

Just pounding missions on Rising Star as usual. Looks like my buffer has run out and my Ego has started going back up, so I guess it’s lessons again. I really need to do something with those Starbits just sitting there.

I did make a little progress on HashKings today. Went in and checked on those joints I crafted and they were there, so I smoked them up! Only two pinners, so didn’t gain a level or anything, but I’ve got a bit more XP now. 😁

Seems like this happened last week…wonder if I should say something about it in their Discord? 🤔 My plant looks totally sickly again. We’ll see, three days left:

Was late again this evening before I started playing Splinterlands. I’d kind of hoped to get caught up with my daily missions, but after the one I’d had enough for the night.

I had Water splinter for my quest today (switched from Life) and it wasn’t as bad as yesterday at least. Pretty good rewards, I suppose, got a few rare and mostly cards:

Staked my SPS drop as usual, which fell wicked hard, like more than ten SPS! 😡 No moves with vouchers yet either, but it’s looking like a little bit of life might be coming back into the market; still just waiting patiently.
