Mar. 17, 20: Hive, Games, and Shopping for a Washer/Dryer Set

Holy schnykies today was an interesting one! Woke up early to find several notifications inviting me to a new Hive server on Discord.

As you are likely aware, a fork has been in the works in the background for some time. The new chain will be an exact copy of the current Steem chain (and none of your Steem will be touched) except that the ninja mined stake will not be airdropped.

This new chain professes to be, and so far honestly appears to be, community driven with a primary goal of greater decentralization.

Several exchanges including Blocktrades and Ionomics have already confirmed support for the new coin and some front ends are already in the works (including a SteemPeak analog).

With all the buzz and drama going on, I was pretty much glued to Discord all day, plus it was sorta’ rainy (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it) so I didn’t go out today. 😢

I did have some errands to run in town, so I took the opportunity to look at some washer and dryer sets at the nearby hardware store.

I’ve repaired our dryer at least twice...well, I guess “repaired.” I at least extended its life by a few months.

The thing squeaks intolerably now and makes the dog bark and go nuts. Time to admit defeat and get a new one. I’ve had them for 11 years and they were free salvage from a friend’s barn, so I’d say I got my money’s worth out of them! 😃

These seem to be nice and are currently on sale! 😀👍

In the evening we just chilled and watched some NCIS.

I wasn’t able to complete my arena task today on Holybread. 😭 I’d gotten myself up into the eighties but then just kept losing. I realized that my potions had run out, so I got some more.

Falling back again...noooo, 100 is just there!!!

I had Death splinter for my Steemmonsters quest today. I didn’t think it would be as tough as it was at the Gold levels, but it did pose a bit of a challenge.

I did get the quest done in Gold I, though with a potion charge saved up from yesterday.

I bought a couple more Warrior of Peace to get it up a level, but I still don’t frequently use it, if ever.

Really want to get that Wave Runner leveled to get the knockout ability, but I still have a long way to go.
