Mar. 5, 22: Routine, Chores, Oculus, Walking, TV, and Games

Woke up at four again this morning, thinking about the website of course, with another hour short. To be honest, I didn’t drag too bad, but I was in wicked pain from the moment I got up.

My foot started bothering me last evening, but it wasn’t terrible and I hoped it would go away after a night’s rest. It did, slightly, but on top of it I got a wicked knife in my right shoulder that was super painful 😖 for the whole day and I did end up taking some painkillers in the evening.

Not a whole lot going on during the morning routine, just the usual stuff. Messed around on Discord for a while, hit the faucets, checked the news, all that. Cryptos are still in a slump and gave back yet another five percent or so. I did gain slightly against ETH on Polygon, but that was my only consolation (booby prize 😜).

Otherwise, cleaned up the dishwasher and the dishes on the counter and in the sink, did some token shifting and bought some more THGaming to go harder into the pool. Bambukah’s tool definitely helps to shorten the workload with that and I’ve been able to keep on top of Solairitas’ wallet…just need that ability to stake to someone and that will be just a couple clicks to do the whole job! 🤞

Safari has been super glitchy lately, and I had my post done early and ready to post at ten, but then the browser froze and I ended up losing a minute anyway. Would be so much easier if Ray would get the bot fixed.

We’ve been struggling (like every year) with mice 🐁 in the house. 😡 We put out some homemade “poison,” but it wasn’t really doing much that we could notice. Wenche went down to the store and got some glue traps and some plastic bins to put all our foodstuffs in.

I took that time to jump into VR for a little bit. Mostly played Puzzling Places working on the one I started the other day, but I saw a random video on YouTube about the top thirty free games for Quest and there was one that sparked my attention.

It’s in alpha, but it’s definitely a super cool concept. You can use a certain, limited number of clones and after you perform an action you can reset the time loop and do something as another clone…so the levels are like puzzles where you have to go in, shoot an enemy and then throw your later self the gun to shoot another enemy…very cool! 😎 Definitely super cool for free, regardless of how janky it may be. It’s pretty cool, too, that upon level completion you see the whole time loop play out…so like the clones spawn in, one shoots an enemy and then throws the gun to the other clone (that wasn’t there yet) and then it catches the gun and shoots the other guy. Super neat concept!!!!

After she got back we spent a little intimate time together and then, for the first time in like three months we went out with the dog for a proper walk! 💪

Was quite nice out, relatively speaking, tolerable anyway. Good to get a bit of sunshine ☀️ finally!

Mostly clear skies except for the spraying. We went down past the lake and it was pretty much still frozen.

I didn’t test my luck, though.

There were some people and shanties out there, though, so probably would have been alright, but it did look like they were tearing stuff down in anticipation of the warmer weather.

Didn’t see too much wildlife, but we did walk past a pair of cranes that let us know, in no uncertain terms, that they were not pleased with our presence.

As we were heading home we walked past the local resale shop and they had a sale on: fifty percent off books and media! So, when I got home I grabbed a couple bucks and headed back down to see if they had any good movies to snag on the cheap.

They had four that looked like they were worth a dollar and with that extra trip I made it over five kilometers and I can count it as a “proper” walk! 👍😁

Wenche cleaned out the cupboard and put the food in the new bins and then we made pizza for dinner and watched one of the new movies: The Brothers Grimsby, one with Sasha Baron Cohen. Was entertaining enough, certainly worth the dollar! 😂

Afterwards we watched a new show: Guardians of the Universe or something like that. I don’t think Wenche digs it all that much, but it’s like a live-action comic book/video game and it made me laugh several times!

That was pretty much it. Played some Splinterlands, but ended up rage quitting, and then got ready for bed.

So then, of the base 214 SIM I should be getting daily (really closer to four hundred, but it’s what they say anyway), I got three. 🤬 Will the dShittiness ever end? Probably not until I stop paying attention to it any more (what you don’t know can’t hurt you 😜).

Been focused entirely on lessons for the last couple days, but even after the temporary drunk fans expired, my Ego was still high (well, higher than zero). So, still just doing lessons until I can get it back to zero penalty.

I did finally go in to the market and I found a relatively cheap rare card that I didn’t have yet and snatched it up. Might have been the extra fans from that that boosted my Ego as well.

I played some Splinterlands in the evening, but it was a mixed bag. I did break into Gold I, which was great, but then immediately lost out and couldn’t seem to finish my quest. Got frustrated and quit with the intention of playing this morning, but as usual, I didn’t really feel like starting the day off getting all frustrated.

Certainly wasn’t for lack of trying, but not much I can do with multiple draws and losses.

Just went in and staked my SPS drop for the day, and no more moves with regard to vouchers either. Starting to pile up a bit in game and really beginning to burn a hole in my pocket, especially versus 200% interest in the diesel pools…
