May 6, 22: Routine, Oculus, School Work, Trivia Night, Airport, TV, and Games

For some reason I seem to like six hours and forty minutes of sleep…been the same almost exactly for the last three days! 😮 Means I’m consistently more then an hour short, but I did focus today and get some work done.

The usual morning routine was fairly unremarkable outside of selling a few tokens on H-E and adding to my pool positions. Cryptos are still being mean, and BTC is threatening $35k 😱 might be looking at a bear incoming.

Otherwise, did my curation, took care of solairitas, hit the faucets, got caught up on Discord, watched a bit of YouTube news, and worked on my post for the day. Not sure where my brain was, but I posted it on accident way early, but I did go back in and edit it properly.

To my amazement, and I don’t know why, Brofund and BroFi actually voted me today…was four hours after I posted, so I don’t know if it was manual or what, but I’m assuming maybe a switch got turned back on? At this point I have no idea and lost the desire to really care (although it is a decent vote between the two of them); we’ll see if it keeps on or if it was a one-off.

After I got my post done and shared and the morning routine was in the bag, I focused on my one goal for the day, which was to get everything ready for next semester starting on Monday and not leave it until the last minute.

Got my schedule made up (more or less)…was super hard! We normally meet for 15 weeks, 30 classes, sixty hours…but this class is super short, only ten weeks and 20 classes. Plus, it happens that both Memorial Day and Fourth of July fall on Monday, so we actually only have 19 classes. That meant that I would need to do slightly more than one and a half sections per class meeting…what a nightmare!

Still, made the decisions about due dates as best I could and got the syllabus and calendar done. Went in and got the Blackboard classes all set up, due dates entered, cleaned up the announcements and the unnecessary menu items and then created the WebAssign courses, got the course codes, and got the Discord ready for the new students coming in. Only thing left now is to make the Blackboard sites available for students and make an announcement with the Discord invitation…well, then deal with assigning roles and all that as students flood in for the next couple days.

Felt pretty good about the fact that I didn’t procrastinate and actually got stuff done and there was still some time before Trivia Night, so I jumped into VR for a little while.

Finished the escape room mystery game I got from AppLab the other day. I did enjoy it, and the physical interaction with the puzzles was very cool, but it did seem to be super short. 😢 Not sure it was worth the twenty bucks, but maybe they’ll release an update later or something. Either way, not a bad game overall.

Played and recorded a couple rounds of Beat Saber and then it was time for Pizza Trivia!!!! I did quite well this time and had several lucky guesses! 😄 Ended up withdrawing about seven PIZZA. 🤑 Stake ‘er up!

Wenche was heading to Norway 🇳🇴 for a visit with her family, so there wasn’t a whole lot of time after she got home before we had to leave, so we made good use of that time in the shower. 😉 I gave her her birthday present (which is on Monday) and then took her in to the airport.

Was pretty late already by the time I got home and I was wicked hungry, so I grabbed a sandwich for dinner and then played my Wordles. Was basically toast by then and didn’t have any desire to play Splinterlands, just got ready for bed, put on some Rick and Morty, and was out before the first episode finished.

Went in to get my dShitty photo for today, but the site was under maintenance (seems like H-E has been having some major problems lately). Good thing the stated income is generally irrelevant to my actual income anyway, which today was a staggering eight SIM:

I guess, really, my relationship with Rising Star hasn’t actually changed since I had to agree to not have dominion over my own assets. My opinion of it is slightly more sour, but it’s still the same old boring slogging through a mission or two a day that it always was. I mean, in the beginning when I was making progress and unlocking rewards and stuff it was fun; now they got me hooked I’m in for a penny in for a pound…still trying to find a way to make this time and attention worth something other than selling off some Starbits.

As is the case with HashKings, six out of seven days a week spent just waiting for time to expire…fun “game.”

My plants are magically back to life. Two more days means, of course, have to use the computer on a day when I teach all day. 🤬

I was driving home from the airport when my Splinterlands quest reset (sat there waiting for it to try and walk it back a little), and by the time I got home, ate, and played my Wordles, I just didn’t feel like it. Figured I could take care of it in the morning, but here we are and I don’t feel like playing right now either.

Got my brawl participation reward and had enough to get two more Gladiator packs (worth, what, maybe 100 deck points?).

Claimed and staked my SPS drop, as usual, and like usual it’s fallen even more. 😡😢 I did finally give in to the urge to move some more vouchers out. I sold a little more, but not much, they’re a bit low and not much liquidity at a price I was willing to take…sold a little more BRO as well, so not as hard pressed for liquid funds as I was before. We’ll see, I could blast through it pretty quick buying PIZZA and PLN.
