Sept. 18, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Laundry, Short Walk, Chores, TV, and Games

[Oh, crap! The morning has totally gotten away from me and I’ve got less than an hour now to work on my post…we’ll see how it goes.]

I actually, consciously, set the phone down last night and tried to put it out of my mind. Within just a couple minutes, I was out. Pretty early bedtime at eight thirty and I slept all the way until six thirty for a solid half an hour over my goal for the night. 😁🤩🥳

Got on with the morning routine and cryptos were hitting hard…showing some nasty reds and looking threatening. This has been a wicked bear, man…kinda’ wish I hadn’t sat the whole thing out (I like trading the bear, way easier than the bull). Haven’t done any real day trading in years, though. Traded some of the bigger swings, but been sitting in my current position (into alts: ETH, LTC, and BCH - out of BTC) for a while now.

I spent a little more time working through another Bitdegree course on game development in Unity. Figured that serves a dual purpose of mucking about with my new Web3 toy and learning something I need for Mythix. 👍🤓

Otherwise, just the usual curation, token shifting, checking the SOL market, get caught up with Discord pings (including a couple Calculus questions), and then worked on my post.

It ended up being a pretty epic post, over fifteen hundred words and I got it posted on time. It being Sunday, then, it was time to head into town to get the groceries.

Didn’t take me very long this time at all and I didn’t really need all that much stuff other than some bread, lunch meat, some cereal, and the usual candy and drinks and stuff. Even without coupons, for once, I got out the door for under a hundred bucks…under seventy-five even! 😯

Got home, got everything put away, and got my normal sandwich for lunch. The laundry was pretty full, so I got that going as well. Most of my bulky clothes were dirty from running/sweating, so I ended up having to split those out into another load and ended up doing four, I think. Still didn’t get the bedsheets done, and it’s time, so I guess I’ll try and get those done in the morning tomorrow. [They’re in the wash right now.]

It had been raining and fairly cool all morning, but by the time I started looking to go out for a walk it had gotten pretty warm and I was worried that the doggies might not like going too far. Even so, wanted to give them a chance to be out and went over to Mom’s house to pick up Lady as well.

It was quite hot in the sunshine, I’ll be honest, but I guess Lady hadn’t been feeling all that well all day. She seemed excited and happy to go, though, so I took her with.

We made it about a kilometer or so, up to the elementary school and she just sat right down in the shade…after a minute or two she then up a couple of times and so we turned around and went home. 😢 She walked part of the way back, but I felt bad for her, so I gave her a lift…even though it was hot, she didn’t argue.

I still had some time left in the afternoon when I got back (and that’s really when I should have gotten to work on the website), but I spent the time doing dishes and cleaning up in the kitchen and then made myself some corned-beef hash and eggs for dinner.

Folded up the laundry that was done and got it put away, and it was all done except for the last load that was still trying when I started heading toward bedtime. I also spent some more time prepping for teaching this week…should be relatively easy, but I do need to write the first exam for Calculus III.

Played some WombPlay games and rage quit pretty fast playing Splinterlands. Otherwise, I put on a new animated show: Bless the Harts, which was pretty good and fell asleep fairly early again.

I’m really getting frustrated with myself not being able to get myself to focus on the web work…time waits for no man.

Still five stated and twenty-three actual SIM income on dShitty, which I guess is the new max shittiness (I assume since it’s stable). At least it paid today.

I got my lesson done and my Ego back to zero today on Rising Star and actually remembered to go in later and reset the mission. Of course, now I’ve got more drunks again, but whatever, just set a mission and forget it for the rest of the day I suppose.

Had an interesting “conversation” with Liuke in Pizza Discord today, rather the master of inflation himself spent quite some time trying to lecture me on basic supply and demand as well as the definition of “currency.” It’s pretty hilarious seeing someone think they’re an economic genius when someone else is footing their bills for them. 🤣

What set me off is that they gleefully posted how awesome they are for destroying 35.5 million of their tokens. Now, I see a certain value in building a sandcastle and kicking it over or making a mandala out of sand and sweeping it away, but generally you don’t happily destroy something that has value. I certainly wouldn’t send my BTC to a null address, much less be happy about it if I did.

His argument was that the token is a means of exchange, a currency…arguing that it doesn’t actually mean anything or stand for any value…regardless of how long I argue, he’ll never have the capacity to see that it’s an admission of failure to consider supply, or in the very least an indication that the token is overinflated…if it gets it’s value from being destroyed, well then @null is exactly where it belongs.

Did I sit at the computer and actually deal with all the button clicky-clicky? No.

Oh, my, fricking, God!!!! I thought, maybe, I’d allowed enough time to pass and so I tried to play Splinterlands this evening. All I did was waste some time losing further into Silver. 🤬 I think I might just say “fuck it” this season, I’m not enjoying it at all.

Claimed my SPS interest, as usual, and still left it liquid for now. I did consider grabbing a few more RW packs, but I just can’t seem to justify it…maybe if I was going to buy 100 packs, maybe, but otherwise it’s not going to be worth it (monsters won’t be usable especially by comparison with the other monsters I already have leveled up).

Been a long time since I did anything with vouchers; they’ve just been accruing in game. It still seems like they’re coming in much slower than before, but I think I have plenty enough for tower defense. (Not sure why I think ten packs, or whatever it is I can afford with the DEC I have, will be any better for this than RiftWatchers 🤷).
