Climbing out of Bronze strategy?

I have returned to playing Splinterlands after some time away and I have been reset down to Bronze.
I am finding it impossible to escape as my Level 4 summoners and cards are reset down to Level 2.
Is there any strategies that work well to escape this level and get back to Silver and eventually Bronze?
It is incredibly frustrating and not fun at all, especially after spending hundreds of dollars to level up cards that are effectively useless.
Sorry for the complaining, but I feel like quitting completely as it is not in the least bit enjoyable, especially when it is supposed to be a game.

It's really hard to get out of bronze. I usually go with Llama and Kron whenever the rule set allows for it. If you find yourself on a losing streak, give it a rest and try again at another time. Sometimes the opponents are really hard to beat and sometimes they are easier.

Well, then leave the game before tomorrow, which is when the change from CP to SPS occurs. This means that all that you have invested in having a higher CP to be able to climb the leagues has basically been wasted money. Now, you just need to have or rent a few cards that have a relatively decent win rate and hopefully (or with a bot) you can even make it all the way to champion league.

For the past two years all changes have been focused exclusively on tokenomics at the expense of gameplay. Splinterlands is not a play to earn game or even a pay to earn game at all. If you forget about that failed marketing and focus on playing, you realize that it is really an entertaining game when you face humans at your same level. Of course, it's extremely disappointing to have to lose 80% of the battles against the bots before finding another human adversary, but if you have nothing else to do, it's even worth the time invested.
