It has been well over two months since I last posted on the Hive blockchain but with good reason.

Before I unexpectedly 'fell off' I had embarked on a journey to invest my Splinterlands and DEFI yields into an affordable home so that I could finally stop paying rent.

Selling off my valuable Splinterlands NFTs was probably one of the most painful things I had to do considering I had grown such an incredible attachment to them. However, one of my Guildmates told me I would probably regret not doing so especially if I was going to use that money for something life-changing.

Indeed, what I was putting my money into was life-changing.

The real estate market in these parts of the world is not as expensive. However, good options are very limited especially when you consider vital amenities such as wired internet, good affordable schools and security.

Fortunately, I was able to identify one that checked 2 out of the three on that list: wired internet and security. The past two months have been an up and down journey dealing with legal procedures and due diligence while also making another token purchase/investment that I have been angling to make.

So after two months of back and forth, this Saturday is the day I finally move from my small one bedroom apartment to my new two bedroom apartment all thanks to Splinterlands NFTs, SPS, CubDefi and spot trading on the crypto market.

I could not be more grateful.

Hopefully I will get the time to take pictures on moving day.

This lovely baby!

I am practically fiat broke at the moment because of this purchase but I have zero regrets about it. It is not an alluring lambo but by saving up pretty much 80% of my crypto and freelancer income over the coming years that could possibly change. Maybe get a Rolls Royce. That is more practical for me.

Do you know what I find interesting?

About 5 years ago when me and a couple of friends met up to talk about our goals in crypto, specifically Steem back then, my goal was always to buy a home and a car from my crypto income. Here I am five years later having met those goals. It feels quite satisfying.

What next? Building back my portfolio!

As fate would have it, Q4 has brought with it massive opportunities to buy back valuable crypto at budget prices and I couldn't be happier. In particular, I am looking at $RUNE, $SPS and adding some more $CUB to my portfolio.

These are all long term projects that will without a doubt create a whole new set of dollar millionaires in the coming years. People always wonder how they never catch the pumps.

You don't get to sell high if you don't buy low. It really is that simple.

Hopefully with these IRL investments, I now have a base to make more long term investments and maybe become the first dollar millionaire in our family. How nice would that be?
