Splinterlands Tips: This strategy will help you win more and level up cards faster.

GET INTO SILVER WITH ONLY 10 DOLLARS!

Most people who get into Splinterlands probably do not have a lot of money to spend and the result of that is you will most likely have to play Level 1 cards and lose quite often because:

  • You do not have sufficient quality cards in the starter pack to put out a strong team.
  • You will most likely encounter stronger opponents.
  • Last but not least, you will most likely face bots playing the very strong Life Splinter.

While a lot of work has gone into eliminating those bots, they are still having a field day mining rewards and DEC in the lower league at the expense of newer players. There is not much that can be done at the moment about that so here is a simple strategy you can use to grow your deck.

Find the cheapest summoners.

Since the Beta packs were completely sold out, the prices of most summoners have cracked the $1 mark for all splinters and they will probably keep rising all except for one, the Dragon Splinter.

The Dragon splinter has 5 summoners available but we will only be looking at two for now, Delwyn and Daria Dragonscale.

As you can see from the image Delwyn goes for 10 cents and has the magic boost ability while Daria goes for 44 cents and has the melee boost ability. That is a massive bargain if I have ever seen one.

Of course, the biggest downside is that they have higher mana levels than summoners in other splinters who have a base mana level of 3. That is a cost you have to pay to make progress.

Upgrade both Dragonnscale summoners to level 3 which would cost you about $3.24.

Play the Life Splinter with any of the Dragonscale summoners.

This is where things start getting a bit more interesting.

The Dragon Splinter can summon monsters from any of the other six splinters and that is a massive advantage because you unlock the fire summoner's melee boost ability with Daria and the Water summoner's magic boost ability with Delwyn.

These are the some of the two most important abilities in my opinion with the current rule sets in Splinterlands. I mostly recommend using Daria Dragonscale with the Life Splinter because not only do you get the advantage of shields, but most of these monsters have very low mana as well.

So, here is what you do.

A level 3 Daria Dragonscale allows you to command a level 5 common, level 4 rare, level 3 epic and level 2 legendary monster.

We have a 10 dollar budget so we are just going to go for level 3 commons, rares or epics. Whatever is left could go into a nice legendary monster to boost the life splinter.

MonsterRarityCost
Silvershield PaladinRare$0.44
Feral SpiritCommon$0.16
Divine HealerCommon$0.11
ArmorsmithCommon$0.16
PeacebringerRare$0.33
TOTAL COST$6.02

That leaves us with with a total of $9.26 after all the cards have been leveled up. The $0.74 can always be used later if you feel the need to upgrade one of the cheaper cards in you deck.

How to play

For obvious reasons, certain splinters are usually deactivated to prevent people from using the same splinter over and over again. You will most likely encounter a situation where one or even both splinters are deactivated at the same time.

Whenever that happens, simply play any other suitable splinter and whether you win or lose, that is not a big deal.

You will also not be able to earn from daily quests effectively since there are no dragon splinter quests in the game currently. Maybe that could change in the near future. Who knows. You could always try your luck with the level one cards but that will probably be extremely frustrating.

The goal is to earn DEC and go after season rewards. That is one of the fastest ways to build up a good deck on a budget. You can always use the DEC to buy new cards in the market or either sell or combine reward cards.

The common way I set up a Daria Dragonscale splinter with life splinter monsters is have, Silvershield Paladin first, Armorsmith, Divine Healer, Feral Spirit and finally Peacebringer. Sometimes depending on the mana cap I would go with Silvershield Paladin first, Feral Spirit, Divine Healer and finally Peacebringer. Basically, always try and protect your tank healer from the blast ability.

Protecting my tank healer is usually my number one responsibility because that ensures that my sneak monster, Feral Spirit, has enough time to attack the last monster in my opponents line up which will most likely be a monster with range ability that goes after my tank.

Daria will give both Silvershield Paladin and Feral Spirit one extra melee damage which is perfect for causing as much damage as possible.

One of the best tips in Splinterlands is to always have summoner and monster levels match the limits of the league you want to be in, or better. Here are the league limits of Silver 3 to Silver 1.

image.png

Silver 1 gets you 18 reward cards at the end of the season and within that you could get a legendary or even gold cards that you could sell for Steem or DEC and then upgrade your other summoners steadily.

It might take a bit of time and be frustrating unlike when you have money to spend but as you upgrade your cards the higher the chances are for you getting into the higher leagues and earn bigger rewards.

Don't forget to play tournaments as well for the chance of earning Steem that you could use to buy more cards.

All the best on Splinterlands.

PS: A level 4 Delwyn Dragonscale free lease is up for grabs for the rest of the season for the first Splinterlands minnow who needs it. So leave a comment below and let me know. :)

Absolutely brilliant post. Probably the best #spt article I have seen in a while (including my own - @flauwy - which I always try to make kick-ass). I will suggest this one to a friend of mine who has no funds to buy cards and will gladly try this out.

Tip: Use a markdown table next time.

Thank you for passing by @flauwy. I edited this article in the Partiko App and that must have broken the table. Let me fix that quick. I wouldn't have noticed it if you did not mention it to me. I also hope you got that much needed rest too. :)

Just saw your recent post with the incredible splinterlands graphics. Dude, you are super talented and I hope you join the splinterlands team.
