The Quora Strategy

(Edited)

Hello splinterlands lovers! It’s me again, this time talking about a strategy I’ve come to learn by force recently. I however haven’t used this strategy because I currently don’t have the major card required to pull the strategy off, but I’m looking forward to getting it and pulling an uno reverse on everyone that has used it on me efore.

What is this strategy and what card am I talking about? Well, I’m pretty sure you know the card already, given the title of this post. But if you didn’t, the strategy heavily relies on Quora Towershead. Unfortunately, not everyone can have or use a Quora as it's a Gladiator.

Let’s take a look at the abilities and stats Quora comes with

The interesting thing about Quora is the many abilities it has even at level 1, and how it packs all these abilities into a mana cost of 10. This in particular makes it the ideal monster for a low mana cap battle.

Stats

The fact that Quora is a dual attack monster gives it an extra advantage in the sense that even in battles where your opponent chooses to shield his team up, unless the ruleset indicates that even magic attacks hit the shield first before health, or your opponent is using a summoner that forces even magic attacks to hit shields first, Quora will still be a formidable monster. But even in the case of magic attacks getting turned into ranged attacks because of shields, Quora’s attacks will still be useful as they’ll break the shields down faster.

As good as the stats look, what makes Quora even more dangerous (in my opinion) is the extra abilities that she comes with. I'll be sticking to just a level 1 Quora because I'm marvelled at what she can do even so weak.

Abilities

Bloodlust

To me, this is the most dangerous thing about Quora. The bloodlust ability makes Quora even more dangerous the longer it lives and the more enemy monsters it defeats.

As I was telling a friend the other way, one of the best things about Quora is the fact that it kills enemy monsters so fast that even if the enemy comes prepared with a monster to control her, she would’ve killed that monster early and lifted whatever ban or restriction was placed on her. That is evident in my most recent loss battle with the Briar Patch ruleset where Quora took out Disintegrator that demoralized her melee attack, and Venari Spellsmith for Dispelling all the buffs she acquired both from her bloodlust and proximal martyr monsters.

You could say in my case, I lost so easily because having my demoralizer (Disintegrator) in front meant I was risking having the demoralize lifted once Disintegrator was killed. But putting him anywhere except the front would’ve meant missed opportunities to attack, since he doesn’t have reach. It seems I’m getting carried away talking about how Quora levelled me in this battle. Lol

Heal

And if your opponent thinks they’ll be taking Quora down easily, they should say hello to her heal ability. As Quora deals more and more damage to your opponent’s team, she’s also simultaneously actively healing herself up by a third of her max health every round.

Quora in low mana cap battles

With a mana cost of only 10, Quora is arguably one of the best low mana high damage and ability monster. The heal ability will save you some extra mana to use for other monsters if you’re someone fond of using healers but also tight in a low mana cap battle. Dual attack also means you get an extra melee or magic attack for free without spending the extra mana for that type of monster.

This doesn’t mean Quora sucks for high mana cap battles. I’m just hinting that if you needed a hail Mary for a low mana battle and didn’t have much time to decide on a strategy, Quora might be your monster. Depending especially on the summoner you pair it with, you can make her even more dangerous!

The winning strategy: extra special “you’re fucked” Quora pack

Very interesting name I’ve chosen, I know. But you’ll understand why soon enough.

I’ve learnt the hard way the best way to use Quora – Have her sandwiched between two martyrs. The two martyr’s I’ve seen mostly used with Quora are the Fungus Flinger and Venari Marskrat. You put Quora between those two, and your opponent is fucked.

Of course, there might be some rare cases where she could be hit with Dispel and have some other monsters do serious damage to her before she has the chance to heal and buff up. But it is unlikely that the battle will have a mana cap high enough to allow the use of monsters of that sort.

If the battle does have such a high mana cap, chances are that you’ll have other monsters to support Quora too. But as my boss josediccus educated me in my last post, if your opponent has something on par with a Level 4 Kron the Undying or better also sandwiched between martyrs, they’ll give you one hell of a battle even if they lose!

You need to see the katrelba Gobson. I think she's 9/10 more dangerous than Quora especially in some Ruleset. But because of the two attack type, Quora can excel in many rulest. I have only level Quora and I got it I think four months after playing in the Guild. It's a beast to be very honest. Nice review

Me: adds Katrelba to the list of cards I want but currently can’t afford😅

I saw someone talking about the Katrelba in one of their battles a few days ago. I could tell how potent it was in that battle.

Just like the Quora, you can earn the katrelba too by playing in the Guild. Absolutely free, just participate, earn merit, use merit to buy gladius card.

Ohhhhhhhhhh this is the Katrelba? I’ve had the unpleasant honor of being solod by this beast like twice now. I just never took note of the name. She attacks twice every round, right?

It has the ability to attack twice and this means it can pretty much activate it's bloodlust quicker than some gladius card. When you see the katrelba, unless you have powerful magic cards, then you're going to lose against this.

Oh yeah for sure. And that’s just for 6 mana. I’m feeling really pumped about getting that and Quora. Wow!!

If you play it in an equalizer ruleset, this is when you'll realize how dangerous the katrelba is. The katrelba is underrated.
