Another Victory On My Recent Brawl

Hello Summoners
I am having some time to play Splinterlands again, and yeah this is a good Splinterlands week for me. Even though I am having fun with Splinterlands, my battle performance is not at a good level regarding I have failed in getting good cards in the beginning of this season.
This happens to my Brawl performance too. The last one was not a good brawl and I believe I will have two more bad brawl performance, as we have three brawls per season. I am ok with that, as this is a game and we should enjoy playing it. However I am aware that my Guild-mates might not think the same way lol.

See that, I only won two battles from a total 7 battles. This was not the worst as I have lost all my battles before lol, but definitely not a good one. I became a burden for my guild lol... but anyway Everyone has their own bad days...
This post is not about me whining my lost, but I will share one of my victory from those 2 wins. Ok let's check it now..
The Battle
This is the battle I pick from my last brawl. It's a battle between two dragon teams, my dragon was the earth element and their dragon was the water. In general both of us came with different meta. Their meta was more offensive one and my meta was the defensive one.

I do not know what about yours, but I have been seeing this meta quite frequent in the last few weeks. People seems to love delivering two big melee hitters with opportunity ability. Deeplurker and Isgald Vorst are the best choice, due to their low mana requirement.
Don't get it wrong here, I do often deliver this duo too as I see both as a g good pair, however the more frequent a meta or a combo pop out in the battle, the more prepared your opponent will be or you are more aware to anticipate it.
As for this battle, my defensive meta was not quite right for this attack, because I was more afraid of facing Katrelba Gobson even though I was using her lol.

Katrelba Gobson is a very dangerous one, however that duo is made exactly to counter her. In another word, I was bound to lose that battle because they had anticipated my meta. However they had one big mistake there, and it was my Archon, AKANE!
Akane made Katrelba Gobson had the ambush phase, which she later made a kill due to it. Then Satha Toledo lookout ability would help guarding her, so she would not be killed easily by a single attack. These two small things made the duo fell apart, because they got killed first lol.

At the beginning on the second round, my team already took down the deeplurker. In this condition, we could say that the duo meta already failed. Isgald Vorst was a great gladiator, but he was not meant to be a Solo game changer. Later in this round, Katrelba Gobson took him down.

This battle ended on Round third. We wiped them out in this round. What started good, ended up as a one sided battle. Good game
So I will be frank here, they made three big mistakes in this battle. Those mistakes were:
- They should not put deeplurker behind. They should put surgeblade as the last unit, so deeplurker had one more round as a chance to make a kill before getting killed.
- They came without good recovery. A good defense needs some recovery abilities such as tank heal, triage, repair and others.
- They came too plain. They really challenged me with basic mechanism, no status ailment, no buff and debuff. Atleast I had some ability such as lookout or thorn lol.
Ok that's all I could say for this post. I was lucky my opponent just copy-pasted favorite meta without deep dived before. so do you think about this one? feel free to express your opinion about it here and see you next time guys!

One thing I like about her( katrelba) is what you did in this battle: if you can protect her as the fight progresses, she becomes absolutely ruthless with her dual strike—especially after scaling up with Bloodlust. In some battles I’ve featured her, my opponent had Quora in their deck, but Katrelba still stole the show. Anyway, congratulations 👏 — more wins for you in the forthcoming brawl fights.
