Hello again my fellow HIVERS,

Welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS chalenge and this is my second entry today about HOLY PROTECTION ruleset.

I have talked about Holy Protection ruleset in my first post, so I won't repeat again here although it's a good trick to prolong a post and made it look great 🤣

In this opportunity, we all already know that most people will go with double striker or blast attacker during holy protection ruleset. Dhampir Infiltrator is everyone favorite card in this case.

Her attacks is not great however good enough to kill any backline cards out there. Her cripple ability is very dangerous too. Regarding everyone tends to use her, so I will challenge myself to make a team similar to this... but with more double strikers... Silvershield Assassin looks good, however I doesn't have him

Is the more Double Strikers, the merrier the battle will be ? let see our battle here

THE BATTLE

This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using blackrrsantan, a scholarship account from Juice Guild. These were the steps I did in setting up my team:

1. Lost Magic, earth would not be a wise one.
2. 28 Mana Cap. This would be a battle of small monsters. I could only choose 1-2 decent sized monsters.
3. I prefer life, due to a silly reason... I only have Pelacor Arbalest who has double strike ability other than Dhampir Infiltrator.
4. I should go with Quix the Devious, better choice than General Sloan.

So here was my line up:

Position	Card	Ability	Plan and Strategy
Summoner		-1 range, -1 speed	Best summoner I can come up with. Better than general sloan, unless if I want to go with more archer artillery
Main Tank		Void, Heal	Void is useless during Lost Magic ruleset, however I need his heal ability to make him more sturdy. A risky choice regarding I can't lose this spot because the rest behind him are archers.
Second		Dispel, Tank heal	The only healer I can think of this time. We have only 28 mana, so don't think to much about showing the Legendary Healer SOLA RANJELL from Gladius set because we have los magic here
Third		Fly, Double Strike	The first Double striker in this team, I hope he can break opponent walls as fast as he can
Fourth		Double Strike, Sneak, Cripple	The second double striker we have here. This one is everyone favorite, she will try to destroy opponent backline with her other 2 sneak attacker team mate
The Fifth		Sneak, Poison	The second sneak attacker card, Uraeus has poison ability and I hope this will be a great value added to my fire power.
The last		Sneak, life Leech	My third and last sneak attackers. I put him on the last position in hope he could grow some health by sucking up opponent health first.

Let see how this battle would go

ROUND 1

• The battle started with both of us Buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
• My opponent came with 5 Melee Damage and 1 range damage. It's a combined 6 damage per round, very low and they looked very committed on their defense...
• My team had 4 Melee damage and 4 range damage. Combined all it's 8 damage per round, definitely my fire power was stronger.
• This would go as a defense oriented team vs an attacking team, very interesting to watch.

ROUND 2

• Although my team was more focused on attack, the fact was the first casuality was on my side. Their defense was very hard to break, that Harklaw and Camilla Sungazer combination was very disruptive to my sneak attackers.

ROUND 3

• Round 2 my team made a come back, we killed their Vruz and Clockwork Aide. It's 5 vs 4 now, my team got the upperhand in this round.

ROUND 4

• THe last round, their got back the odds. Now we got back equal, 4 vs 4.

ROUND 5

• Both of us were keeping up the game, now it became 3 vs 3. This would be a race between my team who wanted to break their tank and their team who wanted to wipe out my backline. who would come as the victor?

ROUND 6

• None died in fifth round, this looked very close now.

ROUND 7

• Well, I won the race. Harklaw fell first, and looked like my win was almost guaranteed here

• The last round, good game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

Looked like my strategy worked again here, however my opponent strategy worked well too. Both of us came with 3 sneak attackers, the difference only on the first 3 cards. I preferred offensive one with an extra double striker and proven its a better choice than a defensive 3 cards which my opponent chose.

Ok let see what the points we can get from this battle:

1. Having more than one double strike ability user works well. This is a better choice when we have a combination of Holy Protection and Spreading Fury, because we don't want our blast to activate opponent enrage ability.
2. It seems it's not wise to play over defensively during Holy Protection ruleset. My opponent had -2 melee damage debuff on my team, it's a great debuff however it did not look good on low mana cap battle because there weren't any big hitters available...or we can say people won't pick them on the line up due to mana limitation.
3. Definitely Dhampir Infiltrator is a must choice on below mana 30. I keep seeing people using her. Honestly the first idea I had was about using Dhampir Infiltrator as the main there on Holy Protection ruleset, but I kept getting the battle which both side used her and it became lame.
4. Speed still tales big part on Holy Protection ruleset. One of my key winning points was dodging, and all those dodges came from Speed Superiority.
