BATTLE MAGE SECRETS: IN REVERSE SPEED, FIRST IS A GOOD META, SECOND IS THE SPEED

Hello fellow Splinterlands Players...
How are you today? I am fine here and I hope all of you are fine too there. As usual, another week, another Splinterlands post from me... Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. Today we have REVERSE SPEED ruleset as our main theme.

REVERSE SPEED, as its named like that, the speed order is reversed. Units with low speeds will attack first before the units which have higher speeds. It's not only the order, the accuracy or the evasive probability will also be reversed.
With this condition, having slow ability and swiftness ability are actually the same as debuffing your own team. So we need to take this carefully because sometime we accidentally put them in because of habits.
How we handle this? it's simple, set your team to have lower speed. However the most important thing here is the meta. You need to have a solid meta / game plan.
THE BATTLE
This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using BLACKRRSANTAN, a scholarship account from bulldog1205 the famous streamer. I used this account mostly to play Brawl for JUICE GUILD. Anyway if you are a diamond league player and looking for a good guild to play competitive brawl, please drop us a message. Let's get back to the main business, here were the rulesets we got:

There were two interesting in that ruleset about.
- The first one that we could use all element there except water. This meant the possibility was vast, everyone could come with unpredictable tactic or meta.
- AIMLESS ruleset. So every non melee units would get scattershot. Initially I wanted to go with Earth Magic Team however this AIMLESS ruined everything.
After several consideration, I preferred to go with a simple Fire Element Melee attacks team. It might be seen as an ugly approach regarding some of them were fast, not aligned with the spirit of seeking slow units.... however let see how things would go

- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
- My opponent came with 1 Melee Damage, and 12 magic damage. It's a combined 13 damage per round.
- My team had 19 Melee damage and 3 range damage. Combined all it's a massive 22 damage per round too.
- My team was really had a nuke level damage power there, however they would not be able to exploit the REVERSE SPEED ruleset. This was the gamble I took because I believed good meta should come first before thinking about the speed.

- My speculation paid off... Their team was devastated in the first round and my team still in full intact. 22 damage in the first round was too much for them

- It only took 2 rounds and they got total annihilated. My team won without any casuality.

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
That was a very one sided battle, however I did not think my opponent came with a lousy line up. so what are the points we can take in this battle?
- SPEED is very important. Having a slower unit during REVERSE SPEED is crucial however without good meta, all will be useless. My opponent come with a better REVERSE SPEED exploitation approach, all are slow however they do not have a valid meta so in the end they get beaten badly.
- Pay attention to the secondary or tertiary ruleset. Scattershot could be awesome however in most cases they killed themselved by wasting some shots aimlessly. I prefer to stay with melee team, although this approach is not great, however it's still effective undisturbed by that scattershot things.
ok that's for today, Have fun with REVERSE SPEED ruleset and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below, thank you
