Hello HIVERS, as usual in the weekend I deliver this post, my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS chalenge and today we have KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset as our main theme.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset forbids all melee units to take part in the battle. We can only deploy magic units and range units. For people like me who dwells in silver-gold league, we encounter magic units as people priority. Magic can not be avoided and by pass the armor, to put this better, magic units can attack on main tank position. So those surely make people focus more on magic than range. Therefore during this KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, my focus is to prepare the anti magic tank!!!

THE BATTLE

This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using blackrrsantan, a scholarship account from Juice Guild. It's a bizarre battle because both of us using the same tactic. Let see how this battle would go

• There was nothing change in round, I skipped forward to round 2 and things had not changed yet

• Now We were on round 4 and none had changed yet again. This would be a long long battle

• round 6 here we got some changed. My Igor Darkspear managed to stun their Void Dragon, and that's why the dragon failed to dodge the attack.

• round 7 Their Void Dragon got killed, my team took the lead here.

• Round 9 their Merdaali Guardian finally fell, now my win was secured.

• Round 10 was the last round. Good game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

We started with the same tactic however it ended up as an overwhelming victory on my side. We had same unit, same tactic, same level... everything equal, but why the result was that bad?

1. Tank Plays GREAT Part

Most of non melee units are great in buff, debuff or damaging... but most of them are bad in defending, especially their health point is half assed. So in KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset, its important to keep your strongest attacker safe. The longer they live, the more damage they can deliver for sure.

2. There Are Reason Why We Don't Like Range units

Like I have said earlier, most people go with magic. They do that, including us here too, because we now what happen to range units when the tank dies....

We had an equal battle here, but once their VOID DRAGON dead, all their backline archers crumbled badly. This thing could happen to me if my VOID DRAGON was to die first.

In most case Range units become unreliable so people prefer to avoid them.

3. VOID DRAGON is Cool

In my opinion, Void Dragon is one of the best option for KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset. He has void to defend himself from magic attacks and he has fly ability too. Fly + 5 speed is a good start to dodge from slow range attackers.

He is not the strongest but definitely one of the best because he has both way defense, from magic and range. and in low mana cap, let say below 30, he is definitely the best one.
