In my first post, I said about healing is not effective during this rulesets. Well how about right now we get a battle which have EQUAL OPPORTUNITY and the battle will rely heavily on Healing? Let's check it out guys

This was a Modern gold league rank battle, and both of us using the earth element. I used Blackkrrsantan, a scholarship account from Bulldog1205 guild. My opponent came with LiLy Shieldpaw as their summoner, its a very good approach to nullify all incoming opportunity attacks. My team had difference approach, we tried to make an overloaded attacks. Let see how things would go.

ROUND 1

image.png

  • The battle started with both of us Buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
  • My opponent came with 3 range damage and 5 magic damage per round. overall they had 8 damage per round
  • My team had 18 magic Damage per round. It's more than a double from my opponent total damage per round.

ROUND 2

  • Round 1 was a fierce battle, my team delivered 18 damages but none died in that side. However Round 2 would be a bloodbath in their side.

ROUND 3

image.png

  • round 3 started with 4 vs 6 condition. They lost both of their main tank.

ROUND 4

  • They lost another 2 monsters in the round 3. It looked like this was the last round for this battle

Good Game, Nobody died in my team

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

My opponent was an interesting one, he came with the will the nullify all opportunity attacks using Lily Shieldpaw Team Camouflage buff. Did it work well? I said it did, however he could not run it well, the team was lacking in several parts.

1. THE HEALING POWER

This is first the major difference which made a big gap between us. I try to nullify opponents' total opportunity attacks using a monsters who has TAUNT ability, Mycelic Slipspawn, and I bring 2 monsters who keep healing her.... Spirit Hoarder and Queen Mycelia. Every urn both Spirit Hoarder and Queen Mycelia heal 6 Health Point until opponent Goblin Psychic put Affliction on her to prohibit any healing on her.

While my team kept healing Slipspaw, my opponent tried to make their tank stayed alive with only 1 healer, the Goblin Psychic. Goblin did well, he healed 5 Health on Runemancer Florre, however my magic firepower was on 18 damage per round, too much for them to handle. Things might go different if they used Immortalis with taunt monsters or atleast bring another monsters with Tank Heal, if that is available of course.

Taunt and Camouflage were a good start to nullify opportunity attacks, we made or lured them to hit one single target. So make sure to keep that target live as long as possible, don't protect or heal him/her with some half ass effort.

2. HALF ASS FIREPOWER

My opponent actually came with a great idea bringing Supply Runner who had Swiftness ability. He increased his teammate speed, making the team overall faster. However the last 2 monsters were letdowns.

He should have bring a set of big hitters or damage dealers. Take a look at my backline army:

image.png

I had 2 monsters, Mycelic Slipspawn and Magi of Chaos who both had 4 magic damage. With these two only, I could match up their entire squad damage. It's not that my team was great, but its more like my opponents failed to build up their fire power.

3. MONSTER ABILITIES

Some of you might think I won because I had better level than my opponents, well that's true but not wholly true. When we play on Gold League, that kind of issue can not be taken as any excuse. When I play to diamond league, I get beaten by a full max level deck, I can't complain at all. That's already a risk I have taken when entering higher league than my current deck level.

So the last reason why I won was not the level, its more like the abilities we had in our team. My opponents did not have a laser focused tactic on his attack, whether to go with speed, blast, piercing, pure high damage or what else. For example, we had Tis but Scratches ruleset which gave all monsters Cripple ability. He could exploit this by using a double strike monsters. I could only see his Chaos Dragon having Blast ability, and the rest just relying on basic mechanism Damage vs Health only.

During Equal Opportunity, make sure we have some abilities that help killing the target too, not only defense and speed.

Ok that's all for today post. Have fun with your EQUAL OPPORTUNITY battles!!
